The met office (PMDmost )’s recent forecast indicates that more rain and thunderstorms will fall in the port city of Karachi throughout the day. Karachi welcomed heavy to moderate showers once more in some areas of the city on Monday afternoon.
Rain fell in places like Liaquatabad, Malir, PIB Colony, Bahadurabad, New Karachi, Surjani Town, North Karachi, Northern Bypass, Nazimabad, Rizvia Society, and the surrounding areas.

Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, and other cities in Sindh are expected to experience rain and lightning today, according to the Met Office, which also predicted that different areas of Balochistan would experience additional showers today and tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Met Office issued a statement saying, “More isolated rain-wind/thundershower is likely in northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas [today],” adding that “more scattered rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Sindh and Balochistan.”
In Karachi, it may result in urban flooding, the report warned.
Due to recent rains, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that Karachi will experience yet another round of heavy rains today (Sunday), citing the continued intensification of a low-pressure system that is currently present nearby.

The Met department reports that only 2 millimeters of rain fell in Karachi on Saturday, despite torrential downpours in some parts of the city, such as North Nazimabad, Malir, Qaidabad, and Super Highway.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that a second rain-producing system, which is almost identical to the previous one and is approaching Karachi, is close enough to cause a health emergency in the province of Sindh.
By this evening, Karachi and various districts of Sindh are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rains as a result of this system, according to the Met department (Thursday). Thatta, Badin, Mithi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Islamkot, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana are among the additional districts that are likely to experience the wet spell with thunderstorms.
On July 15 and 16, Karachi is additionally predicted to experience rain with greater intensity.
The Sindh Health Department has declared a health emergency at all tertiary-care hospitals in Karachi and other province cities due to the predicted heavy rains, and has ordered the authorities to set up control rooms at all district health offices and hospitals.
The PMD officials in Islamabad also issued a warning about the ongoing penetration of the upper and central parts of the nation by monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal. They claimed that beginning today, heavy rains would also fall in Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, eastern Balochistan, and other regions of the nation.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also instructed the relevant federal ministries and departments, the provincial governments, and their line departments to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to deal with any unfavorable situation in light of the forecast for heavy rains.
According to a statement from the NDMA, the relevant departments have been instructed to make sure that dewatering pumps and other emergency equipment are set up in advance, as well as that emergency personnel are available to respond to any emergency, particularly in the event of a blockage, road closure, or other damage in major cities like Karachi.
