Iran
As US President Joe Biden tours the Middle East, Iran’s navy on Friday showed its first division of vessels and submarines equipped to transport armed drones. Iran has previously been charged with employing drones and missiles to strike US military and Israel-affiliated ships in the Gulf by the US and Israel, Iran’s sworn rivals.
The Iran Navy has presented its first drone-carrier division, which consists of ships and submarines equipped with a variety of drones for warfare, detection, and destruction.
It continued, displaying pictures of drones taking off from a naval vessel, “All varieties of the latest advanced drones developed by the military and the defence ministry have flown over the Indian Ocean’s waters to exhibit their capabilities.”
The announcement comes as Biden travels to Israel for the first time as president, where he and acting Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Thursday inked a security agreement strengthening their united front against Iran.
