According to Forbes, singer Rihanna is the US’s youngest self-made billionaire. For the third year in a row, the 34-year-old singer was recently included on the publication’s annual list of America’s wealthiest self-made women. She now has a $1.4 billion net worth. The only billionaire under 40 on the list, she came in at number 21 overall.
The money that Rihanna has amassed comes from her lucrative music career as well as her business ventures, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage X Fenty.
Back in March, Bloomberg reported that the Savage X Fenty lingerie company was collaborating with advisors on a potential $3 billion or higher initial public offering. That business is 30% owned by Rihanna.
Rihanna succeeds in a variety of business endeavors. She owns a 30% stake in Savage x Fenty lingerie and is a co-owner of Fenty Beauty. She also experimented with Fenty Beauty. The music industry has been rocked by her song “Umbrella.”
She is also the first person from her native Barbados to become a billionaire, according to Forbes. Not only that, but she is the only woman under 40 to appear on Forbes’ list of American women who will be billionaires in 2022.
To be inclusive in her endeavors is what Rihanna owes her wealth. “Many women believed there were no [makeup] brands available that suited their skin tone. We all know that’s not how it was; it was light, medium, medium-dark, and dark.
According to Forbes, consumer product co-founder of Bluestock Advisors Shannon Coyne said as much. One of the first companies to declare, “I want to speak to all of those different people,” was hers.
