The Punjab Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare has reported an increase in suspected measles infections throughout the province; thus far this year, over 12,000 cases have been documented.
263 suspected instances of measles in children were recorded throughout the course of the previous day, according to department records. The province has reported 12,220 instances of measles so far this year, despite the fact that no fatalities from the disease have been reported in the past day.
In the past 24 hours, the most instances were recorded in Rawalpindi (11), Lahore (40), and Multan (17).
Sheikhupura (16), Bahawalpur (12), Faisalabad (30), Jhang (23), Khanewal (13), and Vehari (13), are among the other districts with notable case numbers.

The people of Punjab have been reassured by Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir that a rigorous immunisation campaign is under progress. In addition, he underlined the significance of digital surveillance and promised to take decisive action against any authorities’ or employees’ carelessness.
The minister went on to say that he would be visiting different regions to evaluate the situation and make sure that appropriate steps are being done to stop the measles and any possible outbreaks.
