Every year on June 5th, we mark “World Environment Day” (WED), which emphasises the need to preserve our natural environment. The day, which falls within the purview of the UNEP, is an opportunity to bring attention to environmental issues like pollution, the illicit wildlife trade, unsustainable consumerism, rising sea levels, and food poverty. “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience” is this year’s WED topic. The event will act as a sobering reminder of how vital it is to save our land, water, and all of its surrounding areas.

The Pakistan Navy observes World Environment Day (WED) to draw attention to the importance of the environment in Pakistan, raise staff awareness, and persuade them to adopt environmentally friendly behaviours. PN has started a number of initiatives, such as gathering solid garbage from the harbour, planting reedbed plants anywhere it has authority, and launching a massive tree planting effort. Additionally, PN keeps raising awareness among concerned departments and organisations of the government and non-government to work together and take action to stop desertification and marine pollution.
Field Commands and PN Units organise a variety of events to foster a sense of accountability among people for protecting and maintaining our environment. I anticipate that everyone under my direction will work together and approach these tasks with sincerity. In order to raise awareness, the National Institute of Maritime Affairs is working with Bahria University, WWF Pakistan, and the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination to host a one-day seminar on the topic of the day.
We have an obligation to safeguard the nation’s future, our offspring, and our huge resources and the abundant gifts of nature.
Recall that an environmentally conscious and clean Pakistan is also a thriving Pakistan! Let’s work together to create a sustainable future where our land and ocean are protected and trees are developed and maintained for future generations on both land and in coastal zones.
