Jennifer Lopez has expressed deep disappointment after announcing the cancellation of the US leg of her This Is Me… Live tour. Live Nation, the ticketing company, revealed on Friday that the 2024 summer tour was called off, citing the singer’s decision to take a break to spend time with her children, family, and close friends.
In a message to her fans via her On the Jlo newsletter, Lopez conveyed her sadness, stating, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down.” Live Nation assured fans that they would receive automatic refunds for their tickets.
The tour was in support of Lopez’s ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now, released two decades after her iconic album, This Is Me… Then, marking her first album release in five years. Scheduled to kick off in Orlando on June 26th, the two-month North American tour was set to conclude in Houston by the end of August.
Lopez assured her fans that the decision to cancel was made out of necessity, promising to make it up to them in the future. She expressed her love for her fans and concluded, “Until next time.”
The cancellation of the tour has sparked speculation about the state of Lopez’s marriage to actor Ben Affleck, along with rumors of sluggish ticket sales for the concert series. However, during a recent press junket for her new sci-fi movie Atlas, Lopez avoided addressing questions about her marriage, dismissing inquiries about her relationship status with Affleck.
The couple made a public appearance earlier in the week at Affleck’s daughter Violet’s graduation ceremony. They have been married since July 2022.
