Tech giant Apple is facing challenges in China and other countries amid close competition with rival brands. In response, the company has slashed the price of its flagship iPhone 15.
Apple is offering discounts of up to 20% on iPhone 15 models to boost sales. Buyers can avail of these discounts on Alibaba’s Tmall, with the 256GB iPhone 15 Pro Max now priced at $1,100. The 128GB iPhone 15 model is over 20% cheaper at 4,599 yuan, down from 5,999 yuan. This sale is scheduled from May 20 to 28. Despite these discounts, Apple’s mainland online Apple Store has maintained its prices. The discounts reflect Apple’s efforts to stimulate demand for its flagship product following a decline in iPhone sales in China and other regions in the first quarter.
Due to competition from Chinese companies like Vivo, Honour, and Huawei, Apple’s market share in China fell to 15.7% in the same quarter from 20.2% a year earlier.
