Hyderabad: Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka chose to bat after winning the toss in Tuesday’s World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan in Hyderabad.
In place of the stuttering Pakistani opener, Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique was selected from the team that defeated the Netherlands in their opening match on Friday in Hyderabad.
In place of pacer Kasun Rajitha, spinner Maheesh Theekshana returns for Sri Lanka after missing their 102-run loss to South Africa in their opening encounter due to a hamstring injury.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka both made one change for the match, with Sri Lanka choosing to bat first against Pakistan.
Pakistan has replaced the ineffective Fakhar Zaman with Abdullah Shafique. Maheesh Theekshana has taken Kasun Rajitha’s place on the sidelines in Sri Lanka.
