Maryam incites excitement for Nawaz’s return
- Claims the PML-N supreme leader is facing fake charges and that upon his return, he will “go to Jati Umra”

LAHORE: PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz stated on Sunday that despite being removed from office numerous times in the past, Nawaz Sharif always came back “stronger than before.” Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to return to Lahore on October 21 after nearly four years of self-imposed exile.
Many observers inferred from her comments that Nawaz Sharif would return from Jati Umra to discover his wife and mother missing that she was alluding to the PML-N’s ‘promise’ that the former premier would not be detained upon his return.
The interim prime minister’s recent comment that he wanted the law to “take its course” regarding Mr. Sharif was in stark contrast to the words.
Ms. Nawaz spoke at various events in Lahore and Gilgit in an effort to rally party members for Mr. Sharif’s welcome.
The PML-N senior vice president addressed a crowd at Shahdara, Lahore, as part of an event series meant to energise the populace before Mr. Sharif’s arrival from London.
She stated that the “prosperity of the country is returning home on October 21” to make clear the shift in the narrative the party is constructing in the lead-up to elections.
It won’t be someone coming back to their home nation. On October 21, the nation will see a revival of wealth and hope. On October 21, the price increase will end and peace will return.
Prior to the shift in perspective, the former prime minister had insisted on holding the former army generals and superior court judges accountable for deposing him in 2017 and causing “political and economic instability” in the nation.
Ms. Nawaz claimed that the country had been “robbed of prosperity and peace” when Mr. Sharif was last removed from office.
She recalled the numerous times her father had been overthrown and noted that each time “corridors stronger than before.
She claimed that those who had attempted to take everything from Nawaz Sharif and make an example of him have changed and are now acting as a warning to others as they take in Mr. Nawaz’s return.
She claimed that those who overthrew Nawaz Sharif were now “lying in the dustbin of history” — presumably referring to Gen. Bajwa and former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar — while Nawaz Sharif was being eagerly welcomed back home.
