In preparation for the ODI World Cup 2023, Pakistan and New Zealand played a warm-up game on Friday at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, chose to bat first after winning the toss. His team’s batters proved their brilliance by scoring an amazing total of 345/5 in the allocated 50 overs, proving that the strategic move paid off handsomely.
Babar demonstrated his batsmanship prowess by scoring 80 runs off 84 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes. The performance of Mohammad Rizwan, who scored a century with 103 runs off 94 deliveries, including 9 fours and 2 sixes, was similarly impressive. Pakistan’s commanding total was further increased by Saud Shakeel’s spectacular performance, which saw him score 75 runs off just 53 balls.
Rachin Ravindra, a New Zealand all-rounder, scored 97 runs in just 72 deliveries to help the team reach their goal. He did so by launching an amazing assault of 16 fours and a six, which stole the show. Due to Ravindra’s outstanding play, Pakistan went into defensive mode right away, which gave the Black Caps a solid starting point.
