The team for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will be unveiled on Friday, September 22, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
In a press release on Thursday, the PCB stated that it had a meeting on Wednesday night with Mickey Arthur, the national coaching staff, captain Babar Azam, vice-captain Shadab Khan, and former captains Misbah ul Haq and Mohammad Hafeez to discuss the performance of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team in the ACC Asia Cup 2023.
Tomorrow, the PCB will reveal the ICC World Cup 2023 team
The men’s national coaching staff, which consists of head coach Grant Bradburn, batting coach Andrew Puttick, and bowling coach Morne Morkel, also attended the meeting.
Dr. Sohail Saleem also attended the review meeting to provide an update on player injuries and the direction that player rehabilitation programs will take going forward.
“This evaluation was conducted with the intention of fostering open discourse and reaching a consensus. Everyone should participate in a discussion about performances, highlighting any issues and suggesting solutions. To be clear about what and where we need to invest for the benefit of our team, we must discuss our strengths and shortcomings, according to Ashraf.
“Discussion revealed that the previous management had allowed many players to play league cricket, which caused them to become fatigued before their national duty,” the article continued. However, moving forward, it has been decided to create a proactive strategy to address players’ workload and give national duty a higher priority.
“I’m delighted we had a productive review meeting and that everyone understood what was going on. We are sure that the Asia Cup experience served as a learning curve and will aid in getting ready for the ICC Men’s World Cup.
“Our team is talented, and we think they have what it takes to compete and succeed at the top levels. We are dedicated to giving our world-class batters and bowlers the support they need.
Chief selector Inzamam ul Haq, who was unable to attend the meeting yesterday owing to a medical emergency, met with Zaka Ashraf on Thursday afternoon to offer his opinions.
Following the evaluation, Inzamam has selected the Pakistani team for the ICC World Cup, which will be unveiled on Friday at 11:15 a.m. at a press conference on Level 2, Far-End Building of Gaddafi Stadium.
