Shahnawaz Dahani, a pace bowler for Multan Sultans, has been declared out of the remainder of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8, and Muhammad Ilyas has been brought in to fill his spot.
Due to a fracture in his index finger, Dahani was disqualified.
The teenage bowler was struck on the finger during their play against the Lahore Qalandars, a franchise spokeswoman said.
The 24-year-old bowler has played in 41 T20 matches for Multan and is a regular member of the squad. During his career, he has taken 55 wickets.
Sources said that West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite may replace the pacer for the Sultans, but the team has chosen to play Ilyas instead.
The runners-up from the previous year, Multan Sultans, kicked off their season on February 13 against Lahore Qalandars.
The Sultans, coached by Mohammad Rizwan, had lost the opening match of the tournament in Multan by by one run.
On Wednesday (today), they will compete in their subsequent match against the Quetta Gladiators in Multan.
