Instead of the PTI power display, Sheikh Rashid posts a video of the LA rush hour.
Sheikh Rashid, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former federal minister, released an aerial video on Twitter purporting to depict a traffic jam from his party’s power show conducted in Rawalpindi on November 26. The video clip’s audio was the PTI anthem, giving the impression that it was an aerial view of the PTI’s march to Rawalpindi.
The tweet (attached below) didn’t have a caption when it was posted, yet it still managed to receive around 40.000 likes and 9,000 retweets.
The Express Tribune, however, determined the assertion to be untrue because the images really depict a traffic jam from Los Angeles, California, ahead of the 2017 Thanksgiving holidays.
Sheikh Rashid’s assertion was rejected by The Express Tribune because the uploaded images really depict a traffic jam in Los Angeles, California. This video was first released in 2017 as a part of ABC News’ live coverage in the US. You can see a screenshot of it below.
The Awami Muslim League leader had shared a video showing a Los Angeles traffic jam instead of an overhead view of the PTI’S power show, which was quickly noticed by online users.
Social media users were able to refute Rashid’s assertion that Imran Khan, the deposed Pakistani prime, was addressed by millions of activists who gathered to Rawalpindi’s Murree Road.
