Within the last day, seven further cases of dengue have been recorded in Rawalpindi, bringing the total number of confirmed cases there to 4,719.
On Tuesday, Dr. Sajjad Mehmood, the District Coordinator for Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC), reported that 31 dengue patients had been admitted to the city’s allied hospitals. Of those patients, 13 were admitted to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 12 were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, and six were admitted to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH).
He told them that out of the total number of patients that were hospitalized, 24 were confirmed cases, with 18 of those patients coming from Rawalpindi.
The health officer provided additional information regarding the punitive actions by stating that the district administration, in collaboration with allied departments, had registered 17 FIRs, sealed six premises, issued Challans to 16, notices to 676, and imposed a fine of Rs 475,500 on violators of anti-dengue standard operating procedures from November 15 to the present. In addition, the health officials stated that the district administration had also issued Challans to 16, notices to 676, and sealed six premises.
During the course of the indoor surveillance, Dr. Sajjad said that 1,306 anti-dengue teams had investigated 34,231 dwellings during the course of the previous day and discovered dengue larvae in 134 of those homes.
In a similar vein, he noted that during the outdoor monitoring, 575 teams investigated 15,836 different locations and found larvae in 28 of those locations.
