Ishaq Dar is adamant that he would finish the IMF program successfully.
Ishaq Dar, the Minister of Finance, has stated once again that the government is dedicated to achieving a successful conclusion to the program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
During a meeting held online with the Chief of Mission for Pakistan at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Nathan Porter, the Minister of Finance made this statement.
The head of the IMF Mission has stated that they are willing to take a sympathetic view of the targeted assistance for the poor and vulnerable, particularly those people in Pakistan who have been affected by floods.
Both parties met to examine the recent developments that have taken place within the framework of the continuing IMF program. Of particular focus was the effect that floods have had on the macroeconomic framework and goals for the current year.
It was decided that estimates of expenditures for prioritized rehabilitation costs will be refined alongside estimates of expenditures for flood-related humanitarian assistance that will be provided during the current year.
In this regard, the engagement at the technical level would be quickly wrapped up in order to proceed with the 9th Review.
