Sri Lanka will play host to the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket WC in 2024, and Zimbabwe and Namibia will do the same for the 2026 tournament.
Malaysia and Thailand will host the ICC U19 Women’s T20 WC in 2025, and Bangladesh and Nepal will do the same in 2027.
Methods of Making It to the Cricket World Cup
Ten teams have been confirmed to qualify automatically for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which will feature a total of 14 teams.
Hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, both Full Members, will be joined by the following eight nations in the ICC MRF Tyres ODI Rankings on a date to be determined. The ICC CWC Global Qualifier series will determine the final four teams that will advance to the tournament proper.
In addition, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 qualification process was given the green light.
The top three teams from each of the four groups at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, the host country of Bangladesh (if not in the top three of Group 1), and the next seven highest-ranked teams on the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Rankings as of February 27, 2023, will qualify automatically for the tournament. This 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier will determine the final two teams.
Martin Snedden presided over a Board group that oversaw the bidding process to determine which countries will host each event.
The ICC Board agreed with the suggestions made by the committee after it and ICC management had carefully examined each proposal.
