The Pakistani military dismissed Imran Khan’s accusations that three people, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and a major in the Pakistani army, were involved in plotting his assassination as “baseless” in response.
The Chairman PTI’s “baseless and irresponsible claims against the institution and specifically a senior army officer are utterly unacceptable and uncalled for,” according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
The military’s media wing claimed in the statement that the Pakistani army takes great pride in being a highly professional and disciplined organisation with a strong and highly effective internal accountability system that is applicable to all for any unlawful acts, if any, committed by uniformed personnel.
