Drake, who held the previous record with nine top tracks for a week last year, has been overtaken by Taylor Swift.
With songs from her most recent album, Midnights, Taylor Swift became the only artist in history to have all ten of the top positions on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States.
On Monday, Billboard announced that Swift had broken Drake’s record of nine Top 10 singles for a single week, set in September 2020.
“10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES,” The 32-year-old pop sensation took to Twitter.
Both a 13-track normal edition and a deluxe version with seven additional songs were released on October 21. One of the largest record debuts in seven years. Swift now has as many No. 1 albums as Barbra Streisand, according to Billboard.
Lyrics like “It’s me/hi/I’m the problem/it’s me” by Anti-Hero have swiftly become a TikTok fad, propelling the song to the top of the Billboard chart. Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow on the Beach, Midnight Rain, Bejeweled, and Question…? round out the top ten.
By far the most impressive of Swift’s Midnights’ many achievements is its first-week sales total, which was over double that of the previous leader, Harry’s House, Harry Styles’ third solo album. As for the number of streaming in the first week, Midnights topped Styles’ numbers by a wide margin, 72.5 million to 53.9 million.
Midnights was the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day on a worldwide scale the day it was released.
