President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines is scheduled to fly over flood-affected areas on Monday to assess the damage after Tropical Storm Nalgae ploughed into the Southeast Asian nation over the weekend, killing at least 98 people.
According to the country’s disaster service, more than half of the fatalities were reported in the southern Bangsamoro autonomous region, frequently as a result of rain-induced landslides.
According to the agency, 63 people were listed as missing and 69 people suffered injuries.According to a bulletin, the Bangsamoro region was responsible for 53 deaths and 22 unaccounted-for deaths.
