The Duchess of York denied making “repeated contact” with The Crown producers before the new season’s release.
On Friday, a spokeswoman for Sarah Ferguson denied rumors that the former wife of Prince Andrew had offered to provide “advice and background information” to the producers of the hit Netflix show regarding her own character in the series. The rumors suggested that Sarah Ferguson had offered to help with the creation of the show.
The allegations were initially brought to light by the Daily Mail, which stated that Ferguson, 63, had made several attempts to get in touch with The Crown’s executive producer Andy Harries “through emails and on the phone.” Ferguson’s charges were the first to be made public.
It has been made very clear by representatives of Ferguson that she “did not discuss The Crown or any idea of helping with the series in any way,” according to their statement.
According to the further explanation provided by the spokeswoman, Ferguson and Harries discussed the possibility of converting Ferguson’s romantic novel Her Heart For A Compass into a television series.
