Digital distribution platform for video games In an effort to conserve internet traffic, Steam is developing peer-to-peer local area network (LAN) game transfer that will allow users to copy games between PCs rather than download them.
Currently, customers who own multiple computers must install the same programmes and games on each one, which puts more strain on the internet’s capacity.
Instead of waiting for the games to be re-downloaded, the new capability will just require users to copy games across computers connected to the same local area network (LAN).
Users may also be able to avoid the decryption step that Steam does while installing games on PCs by using the feature.
