Even if they make fun of her easter eggs, Taylor Swift remains appreciative of her fans. Here is what the ‘Midnights’ creator had to say about how her 2022 album was received.
13 original songs from Swift’s most recent album, Midnights, each depict a restless night in the singer’s life. This artist published a “3 am Edition” of the album as a special treat for fans. Each song shattered numerous personal records and received millions of Spotify streams.
Midnights helped Swift break the record for the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day and set a new record for the largest album ever published globally in Spatial Audio on Apple Music. Regarding sales, according to Billboard, Midnights sold more than 1.3 million equivalent album units in the US in its first four days of availability.
With fans discussing their favorite songs and finding Easter Eggs, it should come as no surprise that Midnights and Taylor Swift became top trending topics on Twitter. Actor Penn Badgley used the “Anti-Hero” video as inspiration for his TikTok.
Thanks to the “Midnights” fan reaction, Taylor Swift is feeling “extremely delicate and fragile.”
Swift’s latest release may have been her biggest to date. In a segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Swift discussed the significance of this album and the very positive reception it has received from fans.
“I’m beside myself, really,” she said. “It’s a concept record, but it’s my first directly autobiographical album in a while.”
The song “midnights” by the indicated artist is a Red re-record that was originally recorded roughly ten years ago. Swift referred to the songs on Folklore and Evermore as “story time,” in which she developed characters and provided background information on their backstories.
“I’m feeling very overwhelmed by the fans’ love for the record,” she continued. “I’m also feeling, like, very soft and fragile. The two can exist at once. But the fact that the fans have done this — the breaking of the records and the going out to the stores and getting it — It’s like, you know I’m 32, so we’re considered geriatric pop stars.”
Here are some reviews of Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” from fans.
Fans commented on this release, with the generally good mixed reviews leaning more in that direction. With over 40 million Spotify listens, “Lavender Haze” currently has the most streaming of any “Midnights” song.
“Doesn’t have the peaks and valleys of some of her other albums but [is] pretty consistent throughout the whole thing. If you’re into the dreamy/synth pop then this is a whole album of it,” says a Reddit user.
“Really liked ‘Anti-Hero’ and ‘Midnight Rain’ personally.”
“People had me worried, but I really really like it, in fact, I love it,” written by another Reddit user.
“I enjoy the lyricism the fun songs are fine without being so cheesy like ‘Me!’ was, for me a no-skip album. It maybe doesn’t have the highs in terms of big pop bangers, but I could see this being amazing as a visual album and I think her most cohesive project album.”
