According to Ambassador Donald Blome on Wednesday, the United States has intentions to grant Pakistan access to its beef market and transfer cotton seed technology.
On Wednesday, the US ambassador met with Tariq Bashir Cheema, the minister for national food security and research, and expressed his desire to strengthen ties and grow agricultural trade between Pakistan and the US in addition to providing flood relief.
The US was eager to introduce high-yield cotton seed technology in Pakistan, the envoy said.
The Sindhi crops most severely impacted by the recent floods were cotton and dates, according to the food security minister, who also praised the initiative.
Mr. Cheema mentioned Pakistan’s difficulties as a result of recent floods and rainfall when talking about Pak-US agriculture cooperation. Our top priorities, he stated, are to help the displaced people return to their homes and reclaim as much agricultural land as we can.
According to Ambassador Blome, the US has made a significant commitment to combating climate change through resilience and mitigation strategies. According to him, Pakistan is one of the top 10 nations affected by climate change. He expressed a desire to collaborate with the Pakistani government on upcoming issues.
