The renowned Centaurus Mall in Islamabad has finally reopened after being closed for a few weeks owing to a significant fire incident that took place in its food court on October 9, 2022.
The change occurred as a result of the Chainstore Association of Pakistan (CAP) requesting that the mall be allowed to reopen after the management there successfully met all structural and safety requirements.
A seven-person fact-finding commission earlier under the direction of Additional District Magistrate found that the fire started in the food court and spread quickly due to cooking oils and other flammable elements.
Irfan Nawaz Memon, the DC for Islamabad, had directed the civic organisation to seal the structure for an indeterminate amount of time after the event.
Additionally, according to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, everyone was able to leave the premises safely without any injuries being recorded.
