FATF finally removes Pakistan from grey list
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan was taken off the Financial Action Task Force’s “grey list” on Friday. The decision was made during a meeting of the Financial Action Task Force, a global organisation that monitors money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
The meeting, which will last two days in Paris, is expected to discuss the removal of Pakistan from a list of nations that are subject to “increased monitoring.”
The Financial Action Task Force announced in a meeting in June that it was keeping Pakistan on the list, or “grey list,” but added that it can be taken off following a site visit to assess progress.
