With regard to renewable energy, the United States International Development Finance Corporation will keep working with Pakistan.Today, Federal Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir met with a group from the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
DFC Chief Climate Officer Jake Levine led the delegation, while Deputy Chief of Staff Policy Naz El-Khatib accompanied him.The minister informed the delegation of the current administration’s solar programmes. According to him, plans call for all future electricity generation to be based on locally available resources. The goal of the policy is to increase energy conservation and decrease fuel imports.
The delegation praised the solar legislation, calling it a win-win for environmental concerns and skyrocketing energy costs, and stated that DFC would keep working with Pakistan on renewable energy.
