Imran Khan, a former Pakistani prime minister, has a five-year ban on holding public office
In a case involving the suspected concealment of funds from the sale of gifts he apparently got from foreign politicians, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday, October 21, banned the former prime minister Imran Khan for five years, according to news agency PTI.
The government that is currently in power took action against Khan after filing a complaint with the Election Commission in August, asking for his disqualification for failing to disclose the proceeds from the sale of gifts he bought at a reduced price from the state archives, also known as Toshakhana.
