A pioneering fund named the “Saylani Electricity Bill Support Fund” has been created by the nonprofit Saylani Welfare International Trust to help locals who are having trouble paying their expensive electricity bills.
The NGO stated in a statement released on Tuesday that “rising fuel prices and the withdrawal of subsidies in the last year has escalated the cost of energy across Pakistan, adding to the problems of regular folks.
Citizens are now approaching Saylani’s 630 locations across Pakistan asking for donations to pay their utility bills, the statement continued. The nonprofit organisation has been helping people with 63 aspects of daily life, like as utility and food costs, for the past 20 years.
Saylani pioneered a “Pan-Pakistan Fund” in response to assist people in paying their debts. To those who qualify and use up to 200 units, donations will be made available. Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad will be the first launch locations for the fund, with aspirations to expand to other cities.
