LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering not competing in the 2023 World Cup scheduled to take place in India next year after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup next year, sources said Geo News.Following India’s decision, the board is already thinking about leaving the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
PCB has been considering a number of options, including not taking part in the big cricket tournament in 2019.Sources claim that the board’s thought tank is now gathering in Lahore to examine issues including India’s rejection and participation in the Asia Cup.
According to sources, the PCB would declare that Jay Shah, the ACC President and BCCI Secretary, made a rushed judgement about the tour and that Shah cannot make decisions on his own.
The World Cup 2023 will be held in India in October and November of the following year.Only in international competitions do Pakistan and India clash; the most recent was the Asia Cup in Dubai in 2022. In 2013, India last played host to Pakistan in a bilateral series.
