The statement from FO Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmed comes a day after Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was jeered by unknown individuals at the Dulles International Airport in Washington DC when he arrived in the US capital ahead of significant talks with international lending institutions.
Iftikhar said US authorities had also taken notice of the inappropriate behaviour with the finance minister at the US airport in response to a question during today’s weekly news briefing.
He recalled that the government delegation had been targeted by certain people during the tour, and the Saudi authorities had taken note.
In response to a different query, the FO spokeswoman praised the foreign minister of Germany’s remarks on the Kashmir conflict.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated at a news conference that Germany too has a role and obligation in relation to the situation in Kashmir. As a result, we strongly support the United Nations’ efforts to establish diplomatic solutions in the area.
At the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif again brought up the Kashmir problem, the spokesman added, but “India is not reacting effectively to address the dispute.”
The spokesman earlier discussed the murder of Hurriyat leader Altaf Ahmed Shah while he was being held in custody and requested that the Indian government launch an immediate investigation into the matter and hold those guilty accountable.
He said, “Pakistan strongly condemns the extrajudicial execution of two more Kashmiris in new acts of state-sponsored terrorism in IIOJK.”
The spokesman expressed great worry about the most recent acts of violence and hostility committed by Hindutva fanatics against Muslims in India over recent Hindu holidays.
This is another another instance of the spreading “saffron dread” that permeates Indian culture, according to the statement.
We urge the world community to hold India responsible for the atrocities committed in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to recognise how Islamophobia in India is quickly getting worse and posing a threat to the safety and security of its Muslim residents and other minorities.
He remembered the claim that the Indian Prime Minister’s “farcical assumption that he had, in some way, “settled the Kashmir issue” was not only incorrect and deceptive but also demonstrated how unaware the Indian leadership had grown of the ground reality in IIOJK.
