Asim Ahmad, the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has given the top officials in Pakistan’s customs intelligence instructions to focus on stopping the smuggling of products, cars, money, and false invoices.
In addition, the electricity regulator announced an increase of Rs0.19188 per unit due to a fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for the month of August, which would result in an additional cost to consumers of Rs3 billion.
The increase will be reflected in October’s electricity bills.All consumer categories will be affected by the increase, with the exception of lifeline customers of all XWDISCOs and electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS).
