KARACHI: On Thursday, the Sindh government rejected an offer to send security officers to Karachi’s local body elections on October 23On October 4, the Sindh government requested that the local body elections in the port city be delayed for three months, but the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) refused.
Despite the rejection, the provincial government has once more requested in writing to ECP a postponement of the metropolis city elections for the following three months.However, the provincial government excused itself from providing security resources, claiming that a substantial portion of the security staff was working in flood relief.
