Modi’s comments on the Kashmir conflict during a recent public rally in Gujarat, according to FO, show “obliviousness to ground realities.”
The Indian government must fulfil its responsibilities to Kashmiris and the world and guarantee that the people of Kashmir are granted their fundamental right to self-determination, according to the Foreign Office, instead of making irrational claims that the Kashmir problem has been addressed unilaterally (FO).
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made comments concerning Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) during a public rally in Gujarat, according to the Foreign Office (FO), which stated in a press release on Tuesday that Pakistan unequivocally condemned the statements.
In his speech to a crowd in Gujarat’s Anand district, Modi claimed that he had followed Sardar Patel, India’s first home minister, in being able to settle the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
The statement said that the Indian Prime Minister’s absurd claim that he has somehow “settled the Kashmir issue” is not only inaccurate and deceptive but also shows how unaware the Indian leadership has become of the reality on the ground in IIOJK.
It reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is a recognised international issue and that the United Nations has been working to resolve it since 1948.
The FO urged India to be held accountable for “its nefarious scheme of altering the demography of IIOJK, as well as for its brutal repression of the innocent Kashmiris.” Pakistan has repeatedly urged the international community to take action regarding IIOJK and the ongoing Indian atrocities in the occupied territory.
In an effort to present an image of “normalcy,” it brought attention to the “deftly orchestrated trips” of the Indian leadership to the occupied region and the “choreographed launching of so-called development projects.”
This will “neither damper the spirit of the Kashmiris trying to break free from the illegitimate Indian occupation nor will it trick the world into believing India’s lies,” according to the FO statement.
The FO statement concluded with the following: “Pakistan reiterates its appeal for human rights and humanitarian organisations to denounce India’s state-terrorism in IIOJK and seek an urgent reversal of the Indian government’s unlawful and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019.”
