While the royals own numerous estates around the world, King Charles is unique in that he owns only one property outside of his own country: the Blue House in Transylvania, which caught his eye during an official visit there and which he eventually purchased in 2006.
According to reports, the farmhouse is located in Viscri, a remote rural village where the new monarch is said to spend only a few days each year. When Charles is not present, the property is open to the public.
According to the Mirror UK, visitors can pay up to £100 to spend the night at the house, which was built in 1912 on a 1700s foundation.
In the documentary Wild Carpathia, King Charles expressed his love for Transylvania, saying, “It is the last corner of Europe where you see complete sustainability and true resilience.” It’s the timelessness of it that’s so remarkable, almost like something out of a childhood book. It’s quite amazing.”
It is worth noting that King Charles is said to be a descendant of the infamous ruler Vlad the Impaler, also known as ‘Dracula,’ a name that has since become associated with vampires.
