KARACHI: After a three-week break, the price of necessary vegetables caused a rise in the sensitive pricing index (SPI) rate, which measures weekly inflation.According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday, the SPI-based inflation rate increased 0.94% from the previous week to the week ending September 29 while increasing 30.62% from the same time last year.
According to data made public by PBS, the average cost of 20 basic commodities—including onions, tomatoes, tea, and other items—rose during the previous week.Ten commodities, including wheat flour, masoor pulses, and bananas, have decreased in price. The prices for 21 necessities remained the same in the meanwhile.
