ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – To celebrate the 75 years of relations between Pakistan and the United States, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended a diplomatic reception on Thursday at the US embassy in this city.
The reception was attended by the federal ministers and Donald Blome, the US ambassador to Pakistan.
The US ambassador declared in his speech that the American people were still supporting Pakistan. More than $66 million in US assistance for flood response demonstrates the depth of the two countries’ friendship.
According to a news statement from the US embassy, he said, “We are doing what friends and partners do – supporting each other when it’s needed the most. Our collaboration has been advantageous to both countries.”
The ambassador said, “Over the decades, more than $32 billion in U.S. assistance to Pakistan benefited Pakistan and enhanced the lives of the Pakistani people.”
Donald Blome, the US ambassador, met with the prime minister at the time and spoke with him about issues pertaining to bilateral ties and collaboration.
