ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines has mandated that all of its flight attendants wear underwear while donning casual attire.
Aamir Bashir, the official, noted that there had been concerns regarding the air hostesses’ dress when they arrived at their offices, stayed in hotels, and travelled to other locations.
He continued by saying that the air hostesses’ subpar clothing was damaging the PIA’s reputation.
The general manager of flight services issued a warning that flight attendants who disobeyed the rules would face harsh punishment.
Separately, the International Transport Workers Federation has voiced worry over the PIA pilots’ and flight attendants’ extended job schedules.
Aamir Hayat, CEO of PIA, has received a letter from the federation regarding the situation.
It stated that the national airline has just changed the cabin crew’s working hours on its own.
It was also mentioned that the cabin crew’s performance and productivity were being impacted by unilateral changes in working hours. In addition, the action was against the rules.
According to the letter, the issue needs to be handled right now in order to preserve human lives because excessively long working hours for pilots and air hostesses could result in mishaps.
The federation had already written the director general of the Civil Aviation Authority two years prior, it was further said.
