On September 26, the national carrier Garuda Indonesia sent an Airbus A330-300 to Pakistan. The Indonesian government sent more than 32 tonnes of assistance to Pakistan’s flood victims on board the wide-body aircraft.
President Joko Widodo, often known as Jokowi, saw and signalled the departure of the aircraft with flight number GA-7500.
Irfan Setiaputra, president director of Garuda Indonesia, stated that the government’s National Disaster Mitigation Agency had organised two humanitarian flights, with Monday’s delivery being the first of them (BNPB). 61 tonnes of assistance were transported in total.
These two unique flights travelled through Banda Aceh from Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
At 2:00 this morning, September 27, the second cargo departed from Jakarta and was due in Karachi at 10:00 local time.
Irfan added in a written statement that was cited on Tuesday, September 27, “It is an honour for us to carry out a mandate of the state and be at the vanguard in actualizing the Indonesian people’s concern for the people of Pakistan.”
Irfan thinks that the humanitarian mission would not only lessen the pain of Karachi’s natural catastrophe victims, but also strengthen ties between Indonesia and Pakistan by exemplifying the great ideals of the Indonesian people.
