Following King Salman’s appointment of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the country’s prime minister on Tuesday, Arab leaders praised him.
In a cable, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, congratulated the Crown Prince on his new position.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa wished the Crown Prince ongoing success in his new position and emphasised his initiatives that benefit the Kingdom and its citizens (SPA).
The connection between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia was emphasised by King Hamad, who described it as a historic one that “binds the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their leaderships and peoples in terms of brotherhood, intimate relationships, kinship and affection.”
The Crown Prince received a cable from Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulating him on his new position as prime minister.
In the message, Sheikh Tamim congratulated the Crown Prince “more success” and expressed optimism for further growth and development in their bilateral ties.
The Crown Prince was also congratulated by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is led by Hissein Brahim Taha. Taha also commended Saudi Arabia for its support of the OIC in a statement posted on the group’s website.
According to a royal decree issued on Tuesday, King Salman appointed Prince Khalid bin Salman as the Kingdom’s defence minister and the Crown Prince as its prime minister.
