Balighur Rehman, the governor of Punjab, took note of plans to host a political rally for Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Monday at Government College University (GCU).
It is regretful to turn the premier educational institution of the nation into a “political arena,” Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman remarked, taking notice of the chancellor’s opposition to the conduct of the political event for PTI Chairman Imran Khan on the grounds. He continued by saying that educational institutions lack the space to host such political gatherings.
On the other hand, Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Maryam Nawaz criticised the Vice-Chancellor of Government College University (GCU) for planning the event for PTI Chairman Imran Khan on the university’s grounds.
The Vice President of the PML-N posted on Twitter that Vice Chancellor Government College University “needs to face strict punishment for desecrating an educational institution by renting it to a Fitna and conducting his jalsa on the campus.”
“Using a seat of learning for political hate-mongering is a felony that should not go unpunished,” Maryam said in her conclusion.
