Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, stated on Saturday that if the government decides to look into the cypher from Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington including remarks about the vote of no-confidence against him, his party’s MNAs will return to the National Assembly.
The key to PTI’s claims that Asad Majeed’s removal from office was the result of a foreign conspiracy is the cypher, which is based on the meeting between the then-envoy and the US Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asia.At a public event on March 27, the former prime minister accused the US of meddling in Pakistani politics and planning to overthrow his government by introducing a no-trust resolution in the National Assembly. In addition to carrying a “threat letter” as evidence, the prime minister reportedly claimed that “a foreign country”—presumably the United States—had “warned of catastrophic consequences if I remain in power.”
