The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill has been the subject of unfounded propaganda, according to Bill Minister Azam Nazir Tarar. He asserts that the law was passed in 2018 with the support of the PML-N, PPP, and PTI.
It was passed in 2018, he added, speaking at a joint press conference with Prime Minister’s Adviser Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, he said that Jamat-e-Islami senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan had recommended a change to the legislation to stop its abuse.
According to the law minister, transgender people are also people, and this legislation is intended to safeguard their rights to inheritance, education, work, health care, and property ownership. He said that it would be illegal to utilise transsexual people as beggars.
According to the minister, the chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) was also asked for his view on the transgender law. He asserted that it is incorrect to assume that this measure has permitted intersex marriages.
Speaking at the event, Kaira declared their support for the bill’s suggested revisions by Senator Mushtaq. He advised against degrading someone in the name of criticism.
