On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lamented the fact that over 33 million people were impacted by historic flooding in Pakistan but that India had not offered to assist.
In an interview with France 24 in New York, the head of the Pakistan Peoples Party claimed in answer to a query that neither Pakistan nor its neighbour had offered assistance.
The foreign minister stated in the interview that “we have a long and difficult history with India” while describing the present relations with that country. Sadly, the India of today is a different India. The secular India that its founding fathers promised to all of its inhabitants no longer exists.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Wednesday that despite Pakistan’s historic floods, which destroyed infrastructure and harmed over 33 million people, India did not provide any assistance.
“Hindu-supremacist India is growing more prevalent at the expense of its Christian and Muslim minority, who regrettably reside in the disputed territory of Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).”
In reference to the Indian government’s decision to abolish IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, he claimed that Pakistan has had very limited room to engage in recent developments.
