SAN FRANCISCO: The US justice department wants to weigh in on Apple’s antitrust dispute with Epic Games, which will be heard on appeal next month, a year after a Californian court decided mostly in favour of the iPhone maker.
The appeals court gave the department permission to send a representative to the hearing on October 21. Both sides are anticipated to present their arguments once more at this hearing, which was set for Friday.
A California judge rejected Epic, the company that created Fortnite, in 2021 after it charged Apple of acting like a monopoly in its online store for digital products and services.
