In a sad remembrance on Sunday at the Pentagon, US President Joe Biden recalled America’s coordinated response to the September 11, 2001 attacks by al Qaeda and vowed to “never give up” in the face of terrorist threats.
In contrast to his previous warnings about dangerous divisions in American society, particularly that some Republicans who support former President Donald Trump’s agenda constitute a threat to democracy, Biden’s statements on national unity on the 21st anniversary of the attacks stood in contrast to his cautions.
“I hope we will never forget how far we reached and how much we cared for one another during these trying times.
