China issues a demand to “end the hostilities” in response to the Israel-Hamas war.

In a statement released on Sunday regarding the “escalation of tensions and violence between” Israel-Hamas war China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the “relevant parties to remain calm, exercise restraint, and immediately end the hostilities to protect civilians and avoid further deterioration of the situation.”

The militant Palestinian organization Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip and has been labeled a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union, was not mentioned by China.

The establishment of an independent state of Palestine and the implementation of the two-state solution are the primary solutions to the conflict, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, China demanded a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war as well as the “establishing of an independent state of Palestine.”

The establishment of an independent state of Palestine and the implementation of the two-state solution are the primary solutions to the conflict, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.

In a statement posted online, it was stated that there had been an “escalation of tensions and violence between Palestine and Israel.”

It made no mention of the Palestinian militant organization Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip and has been labeled a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States.

Since Hamas fighters stormed Israel on Saturday and kidnapped dozens of individuals, including civilians, at least 700 people have died in Israel. The latest death toll from Israel’s counteroffensive assaults on Gaza is 370, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The Chinese foreign ministry stated, “We call on relevant parties to maintain composure, exercise restraint, and immediately end the hostilities to protect civilians and prevent further deterioration of the situation.”

The statement continued, “The international community must act with greater urgency, increase its involvement in the Palestine situation, support the early resumption of peace negotiations between Palestine and Israel, and find a means of achieving lasting peace. China will keep pushing forward with the international community in that direction.

Zhang Jun, China’s permanent representative to the UN, expressed a stronger position on the escalating unrest on Monday by stating that “China condemns all violence and attacks against civilians.”

Under the Official Secrets Act 2023, the case was heard in Adiala Jail by Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain. The former foreign minister and prime minister’s attorneys received copies of the challan in the matter during today’s session.

On October 17, the court will file charges against both PTI leaders.

The Official Secrets Act’s first information report (FIR) was filed on August 15. The Home Secretary’s complaint led to its registration.

The names of former principal secretary Azam Khan and former planning minister Asad Umar were also listed in the report, along with former prime minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Action will reportedly be taken against Azam Khan and Asad Umar as well after the authorities determined that they were also involved in utilizing the secret documents improperly.

According to the FIR, the former foreign minister and prime minister fabricated information on the diplomatic cipher. It continued, “A conspiracy was started to use the cipher’s information for evil ends. It went on to say that the state’s interests were harmed by the former premier and senior diplomat.

According to the report, Azam Khan, the previous prime minister’s principal secretary, was directed to “manipulate the contents of cipher” by the former prime minister. “The former premier kept the copy of the diplomatic cipher that was sent to the PM office on purpose,” the statement continued.

China’s response to the Israeli-Gaza conflict

According to a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China is gravely concerned about the current uptick in hostilities between the Israelis and the Palestinians and has urged all parties involved to show prudence and composure.

The spokesperson demanded in a statement that hostilities halt right away in order to protect civilians and prevent the situation from getting worse.

The spokesperson added that the implementation of the two-state solution and the creation of an independent State of Palestine were the main means of resolving the issue and that the protracted stalemate of the peace process could not continue.

The spokesperson stated, “The international community needs to act more quickly, increase its involvement in the Palestine question, facilitate the early resumption of peace talks between Palestine and Israel, and find a way to achieve lasting peace.”

The spokesperson also stated that China will continue to exert all of its efforts in cooperation with the international community to bring about such outcome.

After a surprise attack on Israel, which prompted Benjamin Netanyahu to warn that they were “embarking on a long and difficult war,” fighting erupted between Israeli forces and the Palestinian group Hamas on Sunday, with hundreds killed on both sides.

Hamas launched a major missile bombardment and a ground, air, and sea offensive early on Saturday, which Israel’s army reported had killed more than 200 Israelis and injured 1,000 more. This was the worst escalation of the conflict in decades.

pakistan calls for international intervention to end israel palestine conflict 1696783123 1491

Pakistan requests international assistance to defend Palestinians against Israeli persecution

On Sunday, acting foreign minister of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani urged for international action to defend Palestinian citizens in solidarity with Palestine against Israeli persecution.

More than 300 Palestinians have died as a result of Israel’s retaliatory airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas’s “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation, which saw 5,000 rockets fired into Israel from Gaza and the subsequent infiltration of southern Israeli communities by armed men.

The unstable situation and the loss of priceless Palestinian lives also caused the foreign minister to voice his worry.

Pakistan requests international assistance to defend Palestinians against Israeli persecution

“The growing antagonism in the Middle East and the deaths of unarmed civilians gravely worry Pakistan. We demand an immediate end to the violence and oppression carried out by Israeli occupation forces in solidarity with the Palestinian people, Jilani stated on his X account.

In addition, the caretaker minister demanded the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 boundaries and in accordance with UN resolutions.

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since Saturday have resulted in at least 370 Palestinian martyrs, including 20 children, and close to 2,000 injuries, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

The army reported that tens of thousands of soldiers were deployed in southern desert regions close to the coastal enclave to rescue Israeli hostages and then evacuate the entire region within 24 hours. Israeli forces engaged holdout Hamas members and bombed targets in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli military, senior military officers were among those killed in battle close to Gaza.

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, warned that the attack, which had started in Gaza, a small territory inhabited by 2.3 million Palestinians, will expand to the West Bank and Jerusalem. Israel has been enforcing a blockade on Gaza for 16 years.

Pakistan, who is “concerned,” asks for a stop to hostilities
On Sunday, President Arif Alvi denounced the abuse of Palestinian rights.

The president emphasized the importance of following UN resolutions while pleading with the international community to take action.

Without denouncing Israel’s usurpation and brutalization of Palestinian rights and people, progress toward peace cannot materialize. It is now necessary to proceed in accordance with UN resolutions. Today, the international community can make a significant contribution to world peace, stated Dr. Alvi on his X account.

A day before, as Hamas launched the largest offensive against the Israeli forces in years, Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) had similarly raised worries about the toll the recent Palestine-Israel war was taking on human life.

The rising bloodshed in the Middle East also saddened Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, who stressed the urgent necessity to “address the Palestine Question”.

“We call for prudence and the safeguarding of civilians. A two-state solution with a viable, contiguous, autonomous State of Palestine is necessary for long-lasting peace in the Middle East, according to the premier.

1000 people died earthquakes in Afghanistan.

More than 1,000 people have died earthquakes in #, according to the Taliban.

2 62b2c6f109111

More than 1,000 people have died in earthquakes in Afghanistan, according to the Taliban.

As rescuers searched among the debris of destroyed villages for survivors, the dead toll from a series of earthquakes in western Afghanistan suddenly increased to more than 2,000 people, according to a Taliban spokeswoman.

He informed the Guardian that “more than 2,060 people are dead and more than 10,000 are injured.” Many more people are still hidden behind the debris.

Hard-to-reach locations 19 miles (30 km) from the provincial seat of Herat were shaken by Saturday’s magnitude 6.3 earthquake, which was followed by eight powerful aftershocks. Rural homes were toppled, and terrified city residents fled into the streets.

“Six villages in the Ghoryan area and twelve in Zindeh Jan are completely in ruins. The official continued, “Efforts are being made to remove people, and we anticipate the death toll will climb. “Rescue teams have arrived in Herat from Hellman and Kandahar.

“There is nothing left for the surviving nearby. Food, clothing, tents, and medication are necessary. Poor and isolated places were affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan. They include a large number of refugees who have just returned from Pakistan and Iran. Definitely, we need assistance from abroad.

Another Taliban spokesman added, “We appeal to all international relief organizations to support us at this moment to rescue our countrymen and women’s lives.

As women and children waited in the open and personal possessions from burned homes flailed in the brisk wind, men dug among piles of crumbling masonry.

From all throughout Herat and neighboring provinces, injured people poured into the provincial hospital in Herat.

After the 600-bed hospital was full by Saturday afternoon local time and the Taliban officials constructed a temporary hospital, dozens of patients were being treated outside the facility.

Firooz a resident of Herat spoke on the phone to the Guardian and said, “People were terrified last night after rumours of another earthquake spread.” “Until five in the morning, my family and I were in a park.”

“Last night, many people slept outside. For the protection of residents’ possessions, just two men from our street remained there. The park was where everyone else was. Like a nightmare, it was.

Dawood a resident of the severely affected Zindah Jan district, told the Guardian that “dozens of villages have been completely destroyed” and that “hundreds of people are under the rubble.” “I traveled to Herat with nine of my dead relatives’ bodies, and now I’m returning. Many of the villages’ roads are in poor condition. Tonight, many people will perish beneath the debris.

In the village where my relatives dwell, barely 50 people are still living, Dawood continued. “Until this morning, there were more than 400 residents living there. Here, a catastrophe is developing.

The district’s “high number” of deaths were reported by the local governor after more than ten villages were reduced to ruins. “We urge everyone to assist the [affected] people in these villages.

In at least 12 villages in Herat province, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that more than 600 homes had been completely or partially destroyed, affecting 4,200 people.

Esmail, a native of Herat, stated, “I was shopping at a market when it started. It was around 11 a.m.” “People raced outside in a hurry. Just as I stepped outside, there was another earthquake, he recalled.

Its duration was shorter than the preceding one. Another followed after that. I then made the decision to go home. While I was outside my home during the following earthquake, a wall collapsed over my cousin, who was 12 years old.

After the Taliban retake power in Afghanistan in 2021, there will be a severe humanitarian crisis due to the widespread withdrawal of Western aid. Stone and mud-brick homes were destroyed in a severe earthquake that struck a rough, mountainous area of the country in June 2022.

With at least 1,000 fatalities and approximately 1,500 injuries, it was the deadliest earthquake to strike Afghanistan in 20 years.

A years-long drought has also affected Herat province, which is home to more than 3 million people and is bordered by Iran. This has severely harmed several agricultural areas that were already struggling.

After the Minar-i-Pakistan protest in Lahore on October 21, Nawaz would depart for home; Marriyum

While serving a seven-year prison sentence, the former prime minister fled for London in 2019 for medical reasons. Due to Nawaz’s persistent absence from proceedings over the course of four years, he was labeled a “proclaimed offender” in the Al Azizia and Avenfield graft trials.

Shehbaz Sharif announced on September 12 that Nawaz would return to the nation on October 21. On September 30, his party stated that Nawaz was prepared to deal with “all kinds of circumstances” upon his homecoming.

Rana Sanaullah, the president of the PML-N in Punjab, stated on October 3 that Nawaz would return to the nation with protected bail and “surrender to the court after his (welcome) reception” in Lahore.

In a statement to Dawn.com today, Marriyum provided additional information about Nawaz’s plans once he landed in Lahore, stating that “he will land at the Lahore airport, and from there he will address a public meeting at Minar-i-Pakistan, after which he will return to his Jati Umra residence.”

Nawaz wouldn’t be detained at the airport, she insisted.

Nawaz would clarify the nation’s economic goals and objectives in his speech at the Minari-Pakistan, according to Marriyum. Only Nawaz Sharif can assist in bringing the nation’s economy back on its feet and stabilizing it.

Shehbaz Sharif served as prime minister for 16 months, during which period, she said, he made no bad choices.

Marriyum continued, “He is the only leader who prevented the nation from going into default.” “The nation would have become Sri Lanka if he hadn’t done any economic planning.”

India receives a threat to detonate the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the 2023 World Cup

In the midst of the ICC Men’s World Cup that India is presently hosting, Mumbai police got an email on Thursday threatening to kill Indian Prime Minister Modi and blow up the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The notorious mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently being held in Delhi’s Mandoli jail, was to be released in exchange for payment of 5 billion Indian rupees, according to the email.

The email went on to say that the sender had already planned out how the assaults would be carried out.

According to the Mumbai police, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which apparently received the threat letter from Europe, then informed them.

“All relevant agencies in other countries have also been contacted, according to the email we received from the NIA. Primarily, it appears that the message has originated from Europe, but we have obtained the email ID from which the NIA obtained the email, and we are attempting to trace it as well, a police official added.

The policeman stated that they had started a manhunt for the sender and would, if required, review and tighten security at all cricket tournaments.

The story continued, “He also believed the message to be a hoax or malicious play by someone sitting in a foreign country.”

The police officer noted that while they have initiated a manhunt for the sender and will review and, if necessary, step up security at all cricket events, the message appears to be a prank or malicious play by someone sitting in a foreign nation.

We will blow up Narendra Modi and the Narendra Modi stadium as well if the government refuses to give us $500 crore and release Lawrence Bishnoi, according to the email provided to the NIA.

In Hindustan, everything is on sale, therefore we too purchased something. No matter how much security you have, you cannot escape our reach. If you would like to communicate, use this email.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a leader of the Khalistani movement who threatened to attack World Cup matches, has already been the subject of legal action. He even made a threat to exact retribution for the murder of Shaheed Nijar three weeks prior.

Patients with hepatitis in Punjab wait for medical supplies

Patients in Lahore, Punjab who have registered with the Hepatitis Control Programme are awaiting the end of the medication cycle.

Details indicate that due to a shortage of medications at the clinics set up throughout Punjab, the lives of the patients registered with the Hepatitis Control Programme in Punjab are in danger.

According to Dr. Abid Ghauri, the manager of the Hepatitis Control Program, the health department did not bring the medications because of their extremely high price.

He said that a new tender for the purchase of medicine had been launched, and he hoped that by October 15, the supply would be replenished.

Sardar Masood Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, stated that Islamabad is unwavering in its commitment to resolving the hepatitis crisis and meeting the World Health Organization’s global elimination targets by 2030.

Patients with hepatitis in Punjab wait for medical supplies

At the United Nations Group of Friends to Eliminate Hepatitis’ second annual meeting, which was held in conjunction with UNGA78, Ambassador Masood Khan spoke on behalf of Pakistan.

Hepatitis: What is it?
Hepatitis is an infection of the liver that can result in a range of health issues, some of which can be fatal. A combination of infectious and noninfectious factors causes it.

Types A, B, C, D, and E refer to the five primary strains of the hepatitis virus. They all cause liver disease, but there are key differences between them, such as how the disease is transmitted, how severe it is, where it occurs, and how it is prevented.

In particular, types B and C are the most common causes of viral hepatitis-related fatalities, liver cancer, liver cirrhosis, and chronic illness in hundreds of millions of people.

The health department did not purchase the medications because the price was too high, according to Dr. Abid Ghauri, the manager of the hepatitis control program.

He also said that a new request for bids had been made for the purchase of medication, and he expressed his optimism that the supply of medicine will be restored by October 15.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Envoy to the United States, Sardar Masood Khan, said that Islamabad is unwavering in its commitment to solving the problem of hepatitis and meeting the worldwide eradication objectives set by the World Health Organization by the year 2030.

At the second annual conference of the United Nations Group of Friends to Eliminate Hepatitis, which took place in conjunction with UNGA78, Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khan made these remarks on behalf of his nation.

What exactly is hepatitis?

Hepatitis, also known as hepatitis A and hepatitis B, is an inflammation of the liver that may result from a variety of infectious viruses as well as non-infectious causes. This inflammation can cause a wide variety of health issues, some of which can be deadly.

There are five primary kinds of the hepatitis virus, which are designated by the letters A, B, C, D, and E, respectively. Although they all result in liver disease, they are distinct from one another in a number of crucial respects, including the means of transmission, the severity of the sickness, the geographic distribution, and the measures of prevention.

Specifically, types B and C are the most prevalent causes of liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, and fatalities associated with viral hepatitis, and they are responsible for the chronic condition that affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

An agitated Jadoon said, “We already have hepatitis medicines available.” When Jadoon was questioned about patients not being able to afford medications, he responded by saying that there was money available for the different special initiatives launched by Chief Minister K-P and that the cost of medicines for patients might be changed in these. This was in response to a question regarding patients not being able to pay for medicines.

On the other hand, he admitted that there had been problems with the release of funding by the federal government, which had caused patients to have difficulties acquiring the necessary supplies. “The department is in contact with the federal government and will very soon release funds for the procurement of medicines for the patients.”

Earthquake: 15 people died in a 6.3-magnitude earthquake in western Afghanistan

Earthquake: 15 people died in a 6.3-magnitude earthquake in western Afghanistan.

Earthquake: 15 people were killed and scores more were injured after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck western Afghanistan on Saturday, according to officials, who also warned that the death toll could grow in light of reports of landslides and people buried under collapsed structures.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the center of the earthquake was located 40 kilometers (25 miles) to the northwest of Herat, the main city in the area. Seven aftershocks, whose magnitudes ranged from 4.6 to 6.3, were also felt.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. (0630 GMT), as the quakes began and lasted just under three hours, large numbers of city dwellers fled buildings.

“We were in our offices when the building started shaking suddenly,” said Bashir Ahmad, a 45-year-old resident of Herat, to AFP.

Wall plasters began to crumble, the walls developed fractures, and some of the building’s walls and portions of it collapsed. “Network connections are broken, therefore I cannot reach my relatives.

It was awful, and I’m too terrified and anxious about it,” he added.

In the moments following the initial earthquake, men, women, and children stood apart in the broad streets, away from tall structures, and were cautious about going back to their houses as the aftershocks persisted.

The last student to leave his classroom safely as the earthquakes started was 21-year-old student Idrees Arsala. “The situation was very horrible; I have never experienced such a thing,” he added.

National Disaster Management Authority spokesman Mullah Jan Sayeq said in a video message that in addition to 15 fatalities, “around 40” people had also been hurt as a result of the tremors reported in three provinces.

“These are the initial figures. He expressed the likelihood of the numbers rising.

He told AFP earlier in the day that surrounding rural and mountainous areas had seen landslides.

During his international journey, the son of an LHC judge requested protocol from MoFA.

ISLAMABAD: After being asked to handle protocol for the son of a top judge while the latter traveled abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) is in a pickle. Although such preferential treatment is prohibited by protocol, the ministry has been urged to take the necessary action.

Syed Muhammad Ali, the son of Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of the Lahore High Court, has received the protocol request. Muhammad Ali wants to visit the US; thus, it has been asked that he be treated with respect both during the Abu Dhabi immigration process and when he lands at New York City’s airport, where the embassy employees will pick him up and take him to his hotel. On his return to Pakistan, the same procedure has to be followed.

“It is respectfully submitted that Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, Judge, Lahore High Court, desires the provision of protocol facilities to Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali, son of his lordship at Abu Dhabi [airport] and John F Kennedy International [airport],” reads the letter sent by the senior additional registrar of the LHC’s Rawalpindi bench, which handles cases involving the federal government.

Muhammad Iram Ayaz, a district and session judge who also serves as a senior extra registrar, is the author of the letter. Also disclosed is Muhammad Ali’s visit schedule. The directives to the MoFA solely address Abu Dhabi and New York; it appears that the police/FIA will handle protocol on the Pakistan side. The letter also includes copies for the foreign secretary, the ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, and the general consul in New York.

In addition, the letter requests that additional international protocol services be given to Mr. Syed Muhammad Ali, the son of his lordship, in accordance with the previously mentioned schedule program. “I shall be highly grateful, if necessary, for the protocol facilities at Abu Dhabi International Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport, New York, for the fast process of immigration briefing, along with facilities of conveyance from John F Kennedy International to the address (mentioned),” it states. In case the MoFA staff needs more information, the letter also includes a contact person’s mobile phone number from the LHC staff.

The MoFA is only permitted to assist judges when they are traveling overseas on business. When they are on private visits, there is no clause permitting them to do this, much less make accommodations for their relatives. The federal cabinet gave its blessing to the regulations in this regard in 2014. The protocol division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), which oversees protocol matters, wrote to the high courts with the following directive: “Pakistan’s missions abroad provide all appropriate facilitation to the Honourable Judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court on their official visits to foreign countries.”

But, as the letter says, there are no explicit regulations or procedures in place by the ministry regarding the supply of protocol services to judges traveling overseas in their personal roles. The Cabinet Division, which is the curator and author of such rules and regulations, was mentioned in this context.

A copy of the Cabinet Division’s letter is enclosed for your review. It continues, “The Cabinet Division has noted that its policies and instructions regarding official foreign visits by dignitaries and government officials do not provide for protocol facilities for the Honourable Judges during their visits abroad undertaken in a private capacity.”

By 2040, malaria may be completely eradicated thanks to a new vaccine.

jpg

By 2040, malaria may be completely eradicated thanks to a new vaccine.

The World Health Organisation has approved a novel vaccine that researchers claim would revolutionise the fight against malaria, which claims 500,000 lives annually in Africa.

According to studies, the R21/Matrix vaccine, created by Oxford University and the Serum Institute of India, can cut malaria cases by up to 75%. It can be mass produced and produced at a low cost.

Adrian Hill, the principal investigator and director of the Jenner Institute at the University of Oxford, discussed this ground-breaking vaccination with The Conversation Weekly. The podcast’s edited snippets are included here.

By comparing the drop in malaria episodes across a year, we may estimate the efficacy at roughly 75%. The effectiveness of the best vaccine before to this was less than that over three years and around 50% over a year.

Although this is a noticeable improvement, it is not the primary one. The main distinction is in how you can produce it on the scale that is actually required to shield the majority of children in Africa who require a malaria vaccine.

A vaccination would be helpful for the approximately 40 million youngsters born each year in Africa’s malarial regions. Our vaccine requires four doses spread out over 14 months, therefore around 160 million doses are required. We can make that happen.

According to Unicef data, the prior vaccine could be produced at a scale of six million doses a year from 2023 to 2026, whereas The Serum Institute of India, our manufacturing and commercial partner, can produce hundreds of millions of doses of this vaccine per year.

The price of the vaccination is the third significant benefit. We were well aware that we couldn’t make a vaccine that cost $100. It would not be acceptable for foreign organisations to fund the procurement and distribution of the vaccine in extremely developing nations.

As a result, the pricing where we are currently will vary depending on the scale, but at big volume, it should be US$5 per dosage.

Why has creating a malaria vaccine proven to be so challenging?
Attempts to create a malaria vaccine date back more than a century. There are now approximately 100 vaccinations undergoing human clinical trials. Very few people have worked in any capacity.

Malaria is not a bacteria or a virus. It is a parasitic protozoan that is thousands of times bigger than a regular virus. How many genes it contains is a decent indicator of that. Malaria has roughly 5,500 while Covid has 13. This is one of the many complex reasons why malaria exists.

There are various parasite types, the first of which is quickly transported to the liver after being injected into the skin by a mosquito. They multiply there for a week before moving into bloodstream.

You will feel awful by the time they reach a really high parasite density. If you’re unlucky, you can also pass away, usually from brain symptoms, a coma, or extreme anaemia. The red blood cells are split open by the parasites.

The parasite then undergoes yet another mutation, this time into a form that the mosquito can acquire through its subsequent bite, continuing the life cycle by infecting another person.

So far as infectious viruses go, this is the complexity level.

There are normally four life cycles for malaria, and each one is distinct. If you can find a really effective vaccination for one of those, you can stop the spread of the disease. And that is what we have been attempting.

As the form that the mosquito inoculates into your skin, so-called sporozoites have been our focus. We’re attempting to capture it before it enters the liver and continues its life cycle.

Fortunately, there aren’t any signs of malaria at that point. Before it enters the blood and begins to grow inside your red blood cells, it is a silent infection.

Therefore, the sporozoite is a logical target to attempt to eradicate the parasite before it rapidly multiplies.

‘The Era’s Tour,’ a movie starring Taylor Swift, sets a new box office record.

The next movie will begin playing on October 13 at ODEON and Vue theatres around the UK and Europe, the same day it opens in US theatres through AMC. More than 100 nations are anticipated to have access to the concert film.

The new movie, which Sam Wrench is directing, is billed as a “breathtaking, cinematic view” of Taylor Swift’s most recent tour, which covered all 10 of her studio albums and featured all of her biggest songs and rarities.

With little than a week to go until it opens in theatres around the world, it has just been reported that the movie has already sold more than $100 million (£82 million) in advance tickets globally.

This tally includes all showtimes, locations, and circuits that will be screening the movie, not only AMC, according to the movie’s official distributor, AMC Theatres (via The Independent). The movie generated $26 million (£20.6 million) in ticket sales on the first day of pre-sales.

The pop queen revealed in August that she will show a concert film of the tour in theatres in response to overwhelming worldwide demand. Friendship bracelets, period clothing, singing, and dancing are all encouraged, Swift said in the announcement post.

“The Eras Tour” has been the most profound, electrifying experience of my life so far, and I’m thrilled to announce that it will soon be released on movie screens, she continued.

October 2023 rates for Pakistan’s iPhone 15 series without PTA

Outstanding performance and cutting-edge camera technologies are promised by this series.

However, given the premium price range, the overall characteristics might not be all that exciting.

Consumers are raising questions about the eye-watering prices of this series, which are made even more exorbitant by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) tax, despite the fact that it promises superior performance and cutting-edge camera technology.

An Overview of the New iPhone 15 Lineup

The iPhone 15 series comes in a variety of configurations to suit different tastes and price ranges.

The available models are listed below, along with their non-PTA costs:

256 GB of the iPhone 15 costs PKR 265,500, while 512 GB costs PKR 324,600.
The price of an iPhone 15 Plus with 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB is PKR 265,500.

128GB iPhone 15 Pro costs PKR 295,000.
256 GB: PKR 324,600

512 GB: PKR 383,700

Prices for the iPhone 15 series with PTA Tax are as follows: 256 GB: PKR 383,700 512 GB: PKR 442,700

The implementation of PTA tax, which dramatically raises the price of these high-end gadgets, dampens the excitement surrounding the iPhone 15 series.

Whether the PTA tax is paid on a passport or CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card), the rate changes. The PTA tax for several iPhone 15 models can be seen here:

iPhone 15: PKR 107,325; Passport

PKR 130,700 CNIC: iPhone 15 Plus:
PKR 113,075 for a passport; PKR 137,000 for a CNIC; and PKR iPhone 15 Pro.
CNIC: PKR 147,150 Passport: PKR 112,275 iPhone 15 Pro Max:
Identity card: PKR 131,130 CNIC: 156,900 PKR

Potential purchasers of the iPhone 15 are suffering a substantial financial hit as a result of these high taxes, which makes the gadgets even more rare.

What Makes the iPhone 15 a Must-Have

The iPhone 15 series has several alluring features that have tech aficionados and die-hard Apple supporters eager to get their hands on the handsets despite the high pricing and taxes:

  • Super Retina XDR OLED Display: The iPhone 15 series offers stunning visuals with a Super Retina XDR OLED display, delivering sharpness and vibrant colors. The Pro Max model, in particular, features a massive 6.7-inch display.
  • A17 Pro Chip: Powered by the A17 Pro chip, these iPhones promise seamless and glitch-free performance, ensuring users can multitask and run resource-intensive applications with ease.

  • The apex of Apple’s smartphone technology is the iPhone 15 series.
  • Although the price may put some people off, it’s obvious that these gadgets are revolutionising performance and shooting capabilities.
  • Apple’s newest product is going to have a big impact on Pakistan’s smartphone market as people assess the benefits of these capabilities against the price.

Hamas militants invade Israel and launch an unprecedented attack on captives.

Hamas militants invade Israel and launch an unprecedented attack on captives.

After the Palestinian Authority’s Hamas started an unprecedented military offensive against Israel, entering Israeli residential areas from the sea, land, and air under the cover of thousands of missiles, Israel announced a “state of readiness” for war.

Numerous Palestinian fighters stormed Israeli positions in the area on Saturday morning, shocking the Israeli security system.

According to Israeli radio, 35 Israelis have been kidnapped by Hamas fighters.

Mohammed Deif, the head of Hamas’ military branch, declared the start of “Operation Al Aqsa Storm.”

In the taped message, he proclaimed, “Today the people are regaining their revolution,” and he urged Palestinians from northern Israel to east Jerusalem to join the struggle to “expel the occupiers and demolish the walls.”

He asserted that Hamas had launched more than 5,000 missiles into Israel, saying, “We must set the earth on fire under the feet of the occupiers.”

The incident came after a Palestinian was killed following clashes with illegal Israeli settlers in Huwara, a community in the occupied West Bank, and nine other people were hospitalised as a result of settlers’ repeated violence after his funeral.

Beginning at 6:00 am [03:00 GMT], rockets from the besieged Palestinian enclave were fired from several areas. The rocket barrage lasted for over 30 minutes.

The Israeli army warned of sirens across the country’s south, while the police urged the public to stay near bomb shelters. Explosions could be heard in cities around Tel Aviv and outside occupied Jerusalem.

Israel has imposed a crippling blockade on Gaza since 2007. Palestinian fighters and Israeli military have fought several devastating wars since.

The blockade, which restricts the movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza, has devastated the territory’s economy. Palestinians say the closure amounts to collective punishment.

India flood toll reaches 56, army issues warning about errant bombs

As of Saturday, there have been at least 56 confirmed fatalities due to floods in India’s northeast. The army has warned that armaments that were carried away by the torrential rains constitute a threat to public safety.

Following the abrupt rupture of a high-altitude glacier lake on Wednesday, violent floods swept over the state of Sikkim.

Climate scientists caution that as global temperatures increase and the ice melts, similar calamities will become a greater threat throughout the Himalayas.

Anilraj Rai, the state’s relief commissioner, told AFP over the phone that “26 bodies have so far been found in Sikkim.”

K. Umesh Ganpat, superintendent of the Jalpaiguri district police, told AFP that search and rescue teams in the adjacent West Bengal state have located thirty more bodies in the Teesta river basin.

He continued, “The river extends up to 86 kilometres.” “The search effort is ongoing.”

Seven Indian army soldiers who were stationed in Sikkim, which is located on India’s remote border with Nepal and China and has a sizable military presence, are among the fatalities.

Among the more than 100 people still missing are sixteen military. In a statement, India’s defence ministry said that “firearms and explosives” from military bases had been carried away by the rains.

According to the ministry, the army has “established lookout teams all along the river” to gather loose ordnance.

A mortar shell that detonated while moving through floodwaters in West Bengal on Friday caused two deaths and four injuries.

Many of the state’s roads, bridges, and telephone lines have been destroyed, making evacuations and attempts to contact the thousands of people cut off from the rest of the country more difficult.

According to the most recent Sikkim government bulletin, the floods had damaged more than 1,200 homes.

According to the report, more than 2,400 individuals have been saved, and close to 7,000 others are finding refuge at impromptu relief camps put up in classrooms, government buildings, and guesthouses.

According to medical reports, Israeli attacks have killed more than 160 Palestinians.

453020384.0

According to medical reports, Israeli attacks have killed more than 160 Palestinians.

According to medical sources in Gaza, at least 160 Palestinians have died and more than 1,000 have been injured as a result of Israeli airstrikes that were carried out after a surprise attack by Hamas that left dozens of Israelis dead.

The preliminary death figures on Saturday followed the greatest attack on Israel in years by the Palestinian organisation in charge of the Gaza Strip, entering regions in the south of the nation after a barrage of more than 2,000 rockets fired from the confined enclave.

At least 40 people have died, according to Israel’s national rescue organisation, Magen David Adom, who also noted that hundreds of injured persons, including dozens in serious condition, are being treated in Israeli hospitals.

Yoav Gallant, Israel’s defence minister, warned Hamas that the attack, which started at 6:30am local time (03:30 GMT) on Saturday and involved fighters infiltrating the Israeli border by land, sea, and air as well as barrages of rockets fired from multiple locations in Gaza, had been a “grave mistake” on its part.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in a video address from Tel Aviv’s military command centre, “Israeli citizens, we are at war.”

Israel’s military announced later that day that it had attacked Gaza with airstrikes.

The Israeli military reported that “dozens of [its] fighter jets are currently striking a number of targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organisation in the Gaza Strip.”

Senior Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif had earlier declared the launch of “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” and urged Palestinians all over the world to resist Israeli oppression.

Nawaz has ongoing chest issues, according to a recent medical report provided to LHC.

nawaz

Nawaz has ongoing chest issues, according to a recent medical report provided to LHC.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) received a medical report on Nawaz Sharif on Friday. Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, is expected to return to Pakistan later this month after living in self-imposed exile for four years.

In the study, it was said that the former premier had “some residual anginal symptoms” that need “frequent follow-up investigations” in both London and Pakistan. Angina is a typical sign of coronary heart disease and is characterised by chest pain or discomfort.

In the midst of serving a seven-year prison sentence, Nawaz had fled for London in 2019 for medical reasons. The LHC had first given the former premier permission to travel overseas for a period of four weeks, with the possibility of an extension based on medical records.

A promise to “provide/send the periodical medical reports of the doctor duly notarized by the embassy to the registrar of this court” had also been made by his brother Shehbaz Sharif.

Nawaz, however, never came back and was charged with graft in other cases.

The event occurs before Nawaz’s anticipated arrival back in Pakistan on October 21, according to Shehbaz. Party officials have stated that after receiving protective bail, he will appear at a reception in his honour before turning himself in to the authorities.

On Friday, attorney Amjad Pervez delivered the most recent medical report—a copy of which may be found at Dawn.com—to the LHC registrar.

Professor Carlo Di Mario, a consultant cardiologist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ National Health Service Foundation Trust’s Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals, signed the report.

Nawaz had already undergone coronary artery bypass grafting, many angioplasties, and ablations. Mario claimed to have followed Nawaz during his time in London.

“We started with medical intervention, bolstering his antianginal therapy. The Covid-19 epidemic’s limits and his ongoing anginal symptoms prevented Nawaz from returning to Pakistan in a secure manner, the official added.

According to the cardiologist, another angioplasty was performed in November 2022 to treat a “occluded left circumflexed artery” when Nawaz’s symptoms “worsened”.

Rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy, and the placement and expansion of many stents guided by intravascular ultrasonography were all necessary.

He noted that because of widespread distal coronary disease in a patient with diabetes and numerous other comorbidities, “(Nawaz) Sharif still has some residual anginal symptoms that would require frequent follow-up investigations both in London and Pakistan.”

Which is healthier for you, plain yoghurt or flavorful yoghurt?

Yoghurt, a flexible and nutrient-dense food with a variety of ingestion alternatives, forces the choice between basic and flavoured varieties. This decision is influenced by things including dietary goals, taste preferences, and health considerations. To make an informed decision, let’s examine the benefits and drawbacks of each yoghurt flavour.

Dietitian Ruchita Batra claims that because plain yoghurt contains no added sugar, it is preferred to flavor-infused varieties. “Unfortunately, it’s possible that artificial sweeteners aren’t necessarily healthier than actual sugar. Additionally, consuming artificial sweeteners that are excessively sweet will train your taste buds to seek additional sweet foods all day. Your best strategy is to stay away from flavor-infused yoghurt and choose the basic variety, said Batra in an Instagram post.

KUALA LUMPUR: As of September 29, 2023, Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) overseas reserves were $110.1 billion (US$1=RM4.72), down from $112.46 billion at the end of August 2023.

Narges Mohammadi earned the Nobel Peace Prize for his “fight against the oppression of women in Iran.”

Narges Mohammadi, an activist currently imprisoned in Iran, has been given the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of “her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all,” the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced on Friday in Oslo.

The 51-year-old Mohammadi has been given a sentence of more than 30 years in prison and is not permitted to visit her husband or children. Since Mahsa Amini’s passing last year, widespread protests in Iran have become synonymous with her name and the fight for human rights. Amini was a 22-year-old lady who had been detained by the infamous morality police of the dictatorship.

The Nobel Committee noted in its announcement of Mohammadi’s win that it “recognises the hundreds of thousands of people who in the preceding year have demonstrated against the theocratic regimes’ policies of discrimination and oppression targeting women.”

Her valiant fight has cost her dearly personally. In total, the dictatorship has detained her 13 times, found her guilty five times, and sentenced her to 31 years in jail and 154 lashes, according to Norwegian Nobel Committee head Berit Reiss-Andersen.

It’s unclear if Mohammadi is aware of her victory. According to her friends and relatives, people held in Iran’s infamous Evin Prison aren’t permitted to accept calls on Thursdays and Fridays.

Mohammadi declared in the statement that she would remain in Iran to carry on with her advocacy “even if I spend the rest of my life in prison.”

“I will continue to fight against the relentless discrimination, tyranny, and gender-based oppression by the oppressive religious government until the liberation of women,” she stated, standing with the courageous moms of Iran.

Mohammadi’s husband Taghi Rahmani told CNN that the award is “for all the people of Iran.” Rahmani, a fellow activist who spent a total of 14 years in regime prisons, now resides in exile in France with their twin children.

“This award belongs to all of Iran’s citizens, not only Narges. In order to demonstrate that they would keep fighting for democracy and civic equality, Iranian men and women took to the streets, stood in one place for months, and engaged in a movement, according to Rahmani.

“Although the years of her absence can never be made up for for us, the honour of recognising Narges’ efforts for peace is a source of solace for our indescribable suffering,” Mohammadi’s family said in a separate statement to CNN.She hasn’t seen her kids in more than eight and a half years, and it has been over a year since she last heard their voices. All of this represents the struggles she overcame to achieve her goals. Therefore, today is a joyful day for us who know that the Nobel Peace Prize will help her achieve her aims, the family statement continued.
