Mother is killed by a 10-year-old for “honour” in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: A 10-year-old child killed his mother in Satellite town on Wednesday out of “honour.”

According to the police, the child approached the deceased as she was going down the street wearing a robe and opened fire, killing her instantly and wounded a passing woman. The dead had petitioned the court to declare her marriage to the boy’s father, according to the police. The police officers were also shot at by the child, but they were unharmed.

After detaining the youngster and finding the firearm, the police opened an inquiry into the event.The injured woman was taken to a hospital in the interim for medical attention.

CNG stations have been reopened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: On Wednesday, the natural gas (CNG) stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPcompressed) reopened following a month-long closure.

The city administration had closed the CNG stations from January 1, 2023, through January 31, 2023 in order to ensure a supply of gas for household use.

The decision was made in accordance with provincial home department regulations, which mandate that domestic consumers always have access to gas.

LHC orders restaurants to remain open until 11 p.m

The Lahore High Court (LHC) authorised restaurants to stay open on Wednesday till 11 p.m.

Justice Shahid Karim directed that the previous hearing in the smog matter be documented in writing and that home delivery services were allowed until 12:30 p.m.

The court also issued a formal order instructing the traffic police to provide phone numbers for traffic information regarding traffic bottlenecks in response to petitions filed by Haroon Farooq and others.

In a sedition case, the court approves Fawad Chaudhry’s bail

Fawad Chaudhry, senior vice president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had his bail granted on Wednesday by an additional sessions court in Islamabad in a sedition case.

The former minister was detained from his Lahore residence on January 25 after a case was filed against him at Islamabad’s Kohsar Police Station. The former minister is accused of sedition for publicly “threaten[ing]]” the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a media interview.

Further Sessions The plea for bail by the former federal minister of information was accepted by Judge Faizan Gillani. Gillani granted the petition with the proviso that Fawad refrain from making similar comments in the future. The bail amount of Rs 20,000 was approved by the court against surety bonds.
