In yet another hike, govt jacks up petrol price by nearly Rs15

The government on Thursday announced a hike of Rs14.85 per litre in the price of petrol, the fourth such raise in the last 35 days, taking the cumulative amount of all hikes since May 26 to nearly Rs100.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, petrol will now be priced at Rs248.74 after the latest hike, followed by high speed diesel at Rs276.54, kerosene oil at Rs230.26 and light diesel at Rs226.15.
The new prices will come into effect from midnight tonight.
The notification said in view of the fluctuations in prices in the international market and exchange rate variation, “the government has decided to partially apply the petroleum levy and revise the existing prices of petroleum products as agreed with the development partners.”

As per the notification, Rs10 petroleum levy has been applied on petrol and Rs5 each on high speed diesel, kerosene oil and light diesel.
‘No taxes imposed’: Miftah
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad soon after the price hike notification issued by the Finance Division, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said Pakistan had received a Memorandum of Economic and Fiscal Policies (MEFP) from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which had some prior actions.
“One of the prior actions required us to revive the programme and raise petroleum development levy, but the PTI reneged on its accord with IMF at the end of February,” the minister said.
Ismail said the government had to apply Rs10 PDL on petrol and Rs5 on diesel.
He said the country suffered a loss of Rs233 billion during the tenure of the previous government, adding that “Rs30 levy should have been imposed on petrol as per the agreement signed by the PTI with the IMF.”
He, however, added the government did not impose any taxes to provide relief to the masses.
Minister of State for Petroleum Musadiq Malik said the government had to take tough decisions to steer the country out of the crisis.
“The next four to five months will be tough but things will start to normalise after it in terms of price hike,” Malik told journalists.
Since coming to power in April, the PML-N-led coalition government had first raised the petrol price by Rs30 on May 26, followed by another increase of Rs30 on June 2 and nearly after a fortnight on June 15, it hiked the fuel price by another Rs24.

Facebook Groups Now Have Group Chats and Audio Calls more updates

Facebook Groups have been a popular way to connect with people about a specific topic or interest for years. Facebook is now allowing Groups to enable new communication features that mimic Discord and Telegram.

Facebook is now testing a new sidebar on the left side of the mobile apps, which displays all the groups you have joined and recent activity (such as new posts and messages). You also have the option to ‘pin’ groups, which moves them to the top of the list. The sidebar looks a lot like what you’d see in Discord, Slack, and other group-based messaging services.
That’s not all, though. Facebook also now allows Groups to create chat channels and voice channels, alongside the typical feed that Group members can post in. The text chats are accessible in both Facebook Groups and Facebook Messenger, functioning like Telegram channels or IRC rooms. Audio channels function like group calls that anyone can join or leave at any time, similar to voice channels in Discord.

02 Entity Menue 1

The new functionality shows Facebook is attempting to mimic popular services like Discord and Telegram, which have been rapidly growing in popularity for the past few years. That could help draw people back to Facebook (or keep people from switching), but it remains to be seen how many Groups are interested in managing live chats. Discord has had problems keeping up with spam and abuse on popular servers, and Facebook is still experimenting with changes to Groups to cut down on rapidly-spreading misinformation.

For iOS users, Google has released the “Switch to Android” app

image 23

Finally available for iOS users, the “Switch to Android” app enables seamless data transfer from iPhone to Android 12 smartphones.

Users can transfer their contacts, calendar events, and app data from their iPhones to Android phones using the free app in their original form. The app was initially released exclusively for Pixel devices. But everyone can now access it.

The new app, according to The Verge, starts the transfer by displaying a QR code on the iPhone. The data transfer procedure starts after the code has been scanned. Users can transfer data wirelessly, but they can also use a cable to connect their iPhone to an Android phone to do so. It is quicker than using wireless.

Users can now quickly switch from an iPhone to an Android device without worrying about data transfer thanks to the app’s availability. Apple has its own app called Move to iOS, which has been available since 2015, for Android users switching to iPhones.

I’ll post anything I want: Minal Khan returns with a direct message for trolls to stop

image 22

Recently, Minal Khan has made headlines, but not for the kinds of things you might anticipate an actor would become popular for. The actor, who has become one of the most recognizable figures in Pakistani drama, hasn’t been able to avoid occasionally turning into a meme. As has been repeatedly demonstrated, Pakistani Twitter is as brutal as they come.

A puzzling coincidence with Khan’s Instagram story update last week caught the attention of social media users on the alert. Khan had screenshotted American model and reality TV star Kylie Jenner’s story and posted it as her own.

Khan initially responded to the memes with humor, but she was subsequently caught screenshotting an image from the photo-sharing website Pinterest and posting it without giving it proper credit. The memes started up again after only slightly declining earlier. But this time, the actor didn’t respond as everyone had anticipated.

Khan addresses the trolls in a brief note that she posts on her Instagram story. I’m using Instagram. I’ll post anything I want… Yes, I enjoy seeing images like this. Khan wrote, “And yes, I’ll keep posting. She challenged her trolls in her final message, saying she has no intention of changing the way she posts stories.

Apple and Google are urged by a US FCC commissioner to remove TikTok from app stores

image 21

Washington and New York: A Republican FCC commissioner has urged Apple Inc. and Google, a division of Alphabet Inc., to ban Chinese-owned TikTok from their respective app stores.

In a letter to the CEOs dated June 24 and sent on FCC letterhead, Brendan Carr, the FCC commissioner, claimed that TikTok, a video-sharing app, had amassed enormous amounts of private information about American users that ByteDance employees in Beijing could access. TikTok’s Chinese parent is ByteDance.
TikTok is more than a simple video app. That’s the shepard’s fur,” Carr wrote on Twitter. It gathers large amounts of private information that, according to recent reports, is accessed in Beijing.

Carr demanded that the businesses either take TikTok off of their app stores by July 8 or provide an explanation for their decision not to do so.

Given that the FCC lacks a clear legal authority over the content of app stores, Carr’s request is unusual. The FCC has the power to grant companies with specific communications licenses, which it typically does in order to regulate the national security sector.
According to a TikTok spokesperson, the company’s engineers based abroad, including in China, may be given access to U.S. user data “as needed” and under “strict controls.”

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Google declined to address Carr’s letter.

Nadal centre stage at Wimbledon as Covid forces third withdrawal

London: Rafael Nadal tops the bill at Wimbledon on Thursday after Roberto Bautista Agut became the third player to withdraw from the Championships following a positive coronavirus test.

In early results on the fourth day of the tournament, women’s fourth seed Paula Badosa set up a third-round clash against two-time winner Petra Kvitova.

Second seed Nadal, hunting a rare calendar Grand Slam, takes on Lithuanian journeyman Ricardas Berankis in the second round on Centre Court with his path to the semi-finals opening up.

Spanish 17th seed Bautista Agut became the third potential dangerman in Nadal’s half of the draw to pull out with Covid, following the withdrawals of 2021 runner-up Matteo Berrettini and 2017 finalist Marin Cilic.

“Today I have notified @Wimbledon of my withdrawal. I have tested positive for Covid-19,” tweeted the 34-year-old Bautista Agut, a semi-finalist in 2019.

“Fortunately, the symptoms are not very serious, but I think it is the best decision. Thanks for your support. I hope to come back soon.”

His exit means that Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan receives a walkover into the last 32.

Wimbledon was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic while the 2021 edition was run at reduced capacity with players confined to a bubble, but this year it is back to business as usual at the All England Club.

Nadal has also benefited from a shock first-round exit for Canada’s sixth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, who took him to five sets at the French Open.

The major threat to the Spaniard’s hopes for a third Wimbledon crown on his side of the draw is Greek fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who plays Australia’s Jordan Thompson.

Nadal, 36, is halfway to a calendar Slam after winning the Australian Open and French Open this year. The feat has not been achieved since 1969.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion struggled with crippling foot pain at Roland Garros but has received treatment aimed at reducing the pain and was moving freely in his first-round match on Tuesday.

Seeds are also tumbling on the other side of the men’s draw, with notable early losers including third seed Casper Ruud and last year’s semi-finalist Hubert Hurkacz.

But top seed Novak Djokovic, seeking to draw level with Pete Sampras on seven Wimbledon titles, is already safely through to the last 32.

Badosa sets up Kvitova clash

In the women’s tournament, Badosa beat Romania’s Irina Bara 6-3, 6-2 while Czech 25th seed Kvitova came through 6-1, 7-6 (7/5) against Ana Bogdan, also from Romania.

Kvitova, who won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014, blew a 5-1 lead in the second set but held her nerve to come out on top in the tie-break.

Badosa said she expected a tough contest against Kvitova, who won the Eastbourne tournament on grass last week.

“She plays very well on grass,” said the Spaniard. “She won last week. I practise with her on grass, as well, so I know what I’m going to find out there.

“She has confidence as well, but I think I have the game that I could play a tough match against her. Of course I think I will have my opportunities there.”

Top seed Iga Swiatek, who has won her past six tournaments, takes on Dutch player Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove, looking to extend her winning run to 37 matches.

“It’s amazing for me to have that kind of streak,” said the 21-year-old French Open champion. “It just shows how much work we’ve been putting for every match.

“I’m pretty happy that I could show consistency because it was always my goal.”

Simona Halep, the 2019 champion, plays Belgium’s Kirsten Flipkens while 11th seed Coco Gauff faces Romania’s Mihaela Buzarnescu.

Gartner predicts a decline in global smartphone and PC shipments in 2022 due to the slowdown in China

image 20

Global shipments of computers and smartphones are anticipated to decline this year due to China’s slowing economy and a drop in consumer spending brought on by inflation, predicts research firm Gartner.

Shipments to China, the largest smartphone market in the world, are predicted to decline by 18% as a result of strict COVID-19 curbs that have halted activity in important economic hubs like Shanghai, according to a report released on Thursday by Gartner.

The research company predicts a 7% decline in smartphone shipments globally, which also takes into account the demand impact of supply chain snarls and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Ranjit Atwal, senior director analyst at Gartner, “a perfect storm of geopolitical upheaval, high inflation, currency fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions have lowered business and consumer demand for devices across the globe, and is set to impact the PC market the hardest in 2022.”

Global computer shipments are predicted to decline by 9.5% this year, according to Gartner.

The prediction is consistent with statements made by industry insiders; earlier this month, chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. predicted a slowdown in the PC market following two “very strong” years.

Companies ranging from chipmakers like Nvidia Corp. to mega-cap tech companies like Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. are likely to feel the effects of the weak PC and smartphone demand. These businesses are scheduled to start reporting second-quarter earnings soon.

The creator of Pokémon GO fired 8% of his staff and shelves four projects

image 19

The creators of the Pokémon video game, Niantic Inc., have cut 85 to 90 jobs and cancelled four projects as a result of the economic downturn.

John Hanke, the chief executive officer of Niantic Inc., acknowledged to the staff in an email reviewed by Bloomberg that the company is experiencing a financial crisis and has been working to cut costs wherever possible. The business must further streamline its operations though, as the situation is becoming more challenging.
Niantic’s vice president of communications Jonny Thaw made the following statement to The Verge: “We recently decided to stop production on some projects and reduce our workforce by about 8% to focus on our key priorities.” This allows us to concentrate on our top priorities, such as Pokémon Go and a limited number of other novel experiences as well as the Lightship platform, he continued.

Up to 8% of the company’s workforce, or 85 to 90 employees, have been let go. The projects that were cancelled include Heavy Metal, Hamlet, a Niantic and Punchdrunk collaboration, Blue Sky, and Snowball.
Since it debuted in 2016, Niantic Inc. is renowned for the enormous success of Pokémon Go. The business hasn’t produced anything that compares to its success, though.

zombie star

Meet the “zombie star” that endured the supernova explosion.

image 18

WASHINGTON: Astronomers have discovered a star in a relatively close-by galaxy that not only survived a stellar explosion known as a supernova, but also emerged from it brighter than before the blast.

The “zombie star” is here.
The star in question is a white dwarf, which is a kind of extremely dense star with roughly the mass of the sun packed into an object the size of Earth.
A white dwarf is the core of a star that, like our sun will in roughly 5 billion years, has lost the majority of its mass at the end of its life cycle.
With its powerful gravitational pull, this white dwarf, which is gravitationally locked in orbit with another star in what is known as a binary system, extracted and incorporated a significant amount of material from its unfortunate companion.

That’s where things got complicated. This caused thermonuclear reactions in the white dwarf’s core to explode in a supernova, an event that should have killed it. The mass of the white dwarf at this point was about 1.4 times that of the sun.
Curtis McCully, a senior astrodata scientist at the Las Cumbres Observatory in California and the study’s lead author
“There was radioactive material created during the explosion. The supernova’s brightness is generated by this.

Jennifer Lopez throws a fit before a television performance

image

According to Dannii Minogue, Jennifer Lopez threw a fit and wouldn’t perform on Top of the Pops until her dressing room had been redecorated.

The Australian singer-actor recalled the time on her podcast The 90s when J.Lo insisted that everything in her room be white when talking about the “diva stories”

Before telling the funny tale, Minogue said, “And while you hear those diva stories, there is one I can actually vouch for.”
“Jennifer Lopez was supposed to perform at Top of the Pops when the 50-year-old was there, but she declined because her dressing room needed to be redecorated.

“I was informed that everything, including the sofa, had to be white. She wasn’t there at the time, so I asked to enter and see the room.

The singer continued by asking why the Marry Me actor would want her room to be all white given the frequent use of body makeup by entertainers.

“Girlfriend is completely covered in makeup from head to toe, was all I could think. She made a joke about how to sit on a white couch.

The friend of Meghan Markle responds to news of her photos with Prince Harry and the Duchess

Meghan Markle’s friend Janina Gavankar responded on Wednesday to a story that claimed she was an Iranian activist after she was seen with Prince Harry and his wife.

Meghan sat in the backseat of Harry’s Range Rover while the American actress sat in the front. Harry was reportedly seen driving to Oprah Winfrey’s house.

On Twitter, Royal Correspondent Omid Scobie posted a photo of the group and refuted the Daily Mail’s claim that Janina was an Iranian activist.
“As much as the Mail would love to trigger its readers with the words “Iranian activist,” the woman in this photo is actually actress Janina Gavankar,” he wrote after posting the image on Twitter.

Janina replied to his tweet several hours later with the following statement: “Let’s be real, my gesticulation and RBF is not newsworthy.”

To increase the precision of weather forecasts, the United States is deploying supercomputers

image 15

LAHORE: To enhance forecasts and alerts for public safety and the economy, the US government’s weather forecast and climate monitoring agency debuted the nation’s newest supercomputers on Tuesday.

The new supercomputers, first announced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in February 2020, significantly increase the computing capacity, storage space, and connection speed of America’s Weather and Climate Operational Supercomputing System.

NOAA Administrator Dr. Rick Spinrad stated that “more computing power will allow NOAA to give the public with more detailed weather forecasts further in advance.”
NOAA will be able to use more realistic model physics to better capture the formation of clouds and precipitation, higher-resolution models to better capture small-scale features like severe thunderstorms, and a greater number of individual climate models to improve measurable models surety thanks to increased computing and storage capacity.
Three times faster than NOAA’s previous system, the twin Hewlett Packard Enterprise Cray supercomputers Dogwood and Cactus operate at a speed of 12.1 petaflops.

At the Australia-Sri Lanka spin match in Galle, Lyon scored five goals

image 14

GALLE: Australia bowled out to Sri Lanka for 212 thanks to Nathan Lyon’s five-for, but the home team reacted on Wednesday by taking three wickets. Ramesh Mendis of Sri Lanka claimed two wickets at the picturesque Galle Stadium on a changing surface, including David Warner’s crucial dismissal for 25, to reduce the tourists to 98 for three at stumps. Following a mix-up with opener Usman Khawaja, who was unbeaten on 47 at the time, Steve Smith was run out on six and fled to the pavilion swinging his fists in disappointment. Khawaja and fellow left-handed player Travis Head were batting on six with Australia behind by 114 runs in their opening innings.

Mendis, an off-spinner, bowled Warner out for a duck after the left-handed opener blasted five boundaries in an aggressive stay at the wicket. Marnus Labuschagne was caught off a reverse sweep, but it was Smith’s wicket that enthralled the home audience. Khawaja turned him down for a quick single midway through the innings, and despite a frantic dive, he failed to make the crease. Khawaja fought until the end, surviving a missed stumping by wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella. Earlier, Dickwella batted defiantly for 58 before the Sri Lankan innings collapsed in the third session following the hosts’ decision to bat first in the two-match series opener. Lyon, who took his 20th five-wicket haul in Tests, teamed up with fellow spinner Mitchell Johnson.

Sri Lanka were 68-2 before the break, with fast bowlers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc both taking a wicket. On a field that has traditionally benefited slow bowlers, the spinners swiftly grabbed control. During his 59-ball stay at the crease, Dickwella counter-attacked and put on crucial partnerships, most notably a 54-run stand with Mendis, who hit 22, for the seventh wicket.

Afridi, Miandad, Sammy, and Shoaib have been named as mentors by PCB

image 13

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that former players Daren Sammy, Javed Miandad, Shahid Afridi, and Shoaib Malik will serve as coaches for the first Pakistan Junior League, which will be held in Lahore in October of this year. The league mentor will be Miandad, who competed in six World Cups between 1975 and 1996, while the team mentors will be Afridi, Sammy, and Shoaib. The four legends each have a combined total of six major world championships, 1,559 international games, 43,057 runs, and 992 wickets. At Gaddafi Stadium in 2017, Sammy and Shahid were colleagues on the Peshawar Zalmi side that won the Pakistan Super League. Miandad will act as the tournament’s general mentor, supporting the mentors of the six teams and the players.

After the Pakistan vs. England T20I, which is scheduled to end on October 2, Afridi, Sammy, and Shoaib will be in the team dugouts before and throughout the Pakistan Junior League. The four well-known celebrities will advise teams in addition to acting as event ambassadors, spreading the word about this groundbreaking event through their expertise, attractiveness, and influence. Soon, three other team mentors will be appointed.

“I am glad that we have been able to attract Javed Miandad, Daren Sammy, Shahid Afridi, and Shoaib Malik as mentors for the Pakistan Junior League,” PCB chairman Ramiz Raja stated. Their participation in the Pakistan Junior League will help us fulfil one of our event objectives, which is to assist future generations of cricketers in developing a competitive and match-winning approach and mindset. The participation of the four titans also underlines that we are on pace to provide a fantastic event that will benefit Pakistan cricket in multiple ways. We are devoted to generating new properties, in addition to establishing a winning environment and strengthening the abilities and temperament of the teens, and the Pakistan Junior League is an event in that direction.”

“I’m not leaving PCB; I’m staying,” Ramiz Raja proclaims

KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja ruled out any ambiguity about his future in office on Wednesday, blaming the media for speculating about his departure. “There is no ambiguity. You (journalists) are the ones who are causing this doubt. “I know the internal issues, and nothing will happen,” the PCB chairman said during a press conference at the National Stadium here. The former cricketer stated that while it was customary to change the board’s chairman when a new administration was formed, it was not a constitutional or legal obligation.”He was asked about his future by a journalist. “I know you people want me gone because it would give you headlines,” the PCB chairman remarked. In terms of his future when his stint as PCB chairman ends, the former batter stated that he may not be a commentator because he has “battled with practically everyone.”

Concerning batsman Shahzad, the PCB chairman stated that he should perform well and engage in self-reflection during his time off. “My message to Shahzad: Let the bat speak for itself.” “Shan Masood made a return by performing well,” the PCB chairman said in response to a question concerning Shahzad’s demand that a negative report about him be made public. Shahzad had demanded the PCB make a “bad report” on him public in a conversation with media workers the day before. “The report provided to the PCB by previous team management regarding me, based on which I was hurt by being kept away from the squad, should be made public.” In answer to the batsman, Ramiz stated that this was not the case.

Former Yorkshire skipper Gale will reject the ECB’s racism investigation

image 11

LONDON: Former Yorkshire head coach Andrew Gale has said he will not participate in the England and Wales Cricket Board’s disciplinary procedure after being accused with bringing the game into disrepute over the Azeem Rafiq racism scandal.

Following an examination into charges of racism made by Gale’s former teammate Rafiq, the ECB recently revealed that Yorkshire and “a number of persons” had been charged. Rafiq stated that the club’s racist attitude drove him to consider suicide during his stay there.

Gale was fired by Yorkshire last year, although he won an unfair dismissal action against the club earlier this month. The 38-year-old has revealed that he has been charged with bringing the game into disrepute, but has stated that he will not participate in the proceedings.

“Let me begin by saying that I was quite unhappy when Azeem’s initial charges were brought to my attention. “To prevent misunderstandings, I deny every claim made by Azeem,” Gale continued. “I am now outraged that he has made such allegations against me.” Gale will not attend any hearings and will not accept the committee’s findings.

The two-time champion, 35, failed to break the massive American’s serve, losing 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 6-7 (3/7), 6-4 on Centre Court.

The British star has a strong record at his home Grand Slam, having won it in 2013 and 2016; his previous early exits were in the third round in 2005 and 2021.

However, the 52nd-ranked Scot said he had no plans to retire and was in better form than last year.

“Certainly, my game was in a better place,” he remarked. “Physically, I felt well, with the exception of a disappointing 10 days post-Stuttgart (earlier this month).”I could have done well here. Avoiding top players and hazardous players early in tournaments is one of the reasons why raising your rating and striving to get seeded is vital.”

The National Institute of Health (NIH) reported that 18,813 Covid tests were performed across the country yesterday, while two persons died from the fatal illness. The national positivity rate is at 3.41 percent.
ng to health department data, Karachi was the most impacted city in the latest wave, with a positive rate of 19.09 percent. In the last 24 hours, the city had 2,043 tests, 390 of which were positive.Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Muzaffarabad in Azad Kashmir came next, with optimism rates of 5.95pc and 4.62pc, respectively. Furthermore, Lahore had a positivity rate of 3.49 percent, while Islamabad had a positivity rate of 2.37 percent.According to health officials, the latest wave of illnesses in the country could be ascribed in part to two sub-variants of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 — BA.4 and BA.5. This meant that the infection would keep spreading quickly.

The administration has demanded that preventative measures be reinstated. Health Minister Qadir Patel announced three standard operating procedures (SOPs) that must be “religiously observed” during a news conference held by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) yesterday.

Members of the committee noted that the same agenda had previously been debated in the Senate Committee on Interior, and that the positions of relevant departments were consistent. However, the goal of resuming the lawsuit includes a detailed discussion on violations of fundamental secured rights on humanitarian grounds, rather than politically motivated goals.

They also believed that no particular cases should be addressed and defended on political grounds, as this would be contrary to the spirit of the human rights committee.

Senator Walid Iqbal, chairman of the committee, stated that the topic was brought up to verify that state organisations worked in accordance with constitutional guarantees.

Neetu Kapoor Recalls Her In-Laws, Raj Kapoor And Krishna Raj Kapoor After Alia-Ranbir’s Pregnancy

Late Rishi Kapoor’s wife and Bollywood actress, Neetu Kapoor is currently on cloud nine as she will soon hold her grandchild in her arms. Ever since the announcement of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s pregnancy, the would-be daadi cannot seem to keep calm as she keeps sharing her joy and excitement of welcoming a new member to the Kapoor family. Now, Neetu has remembered her in-laws, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor for their blessings and shared a monochromatic picture which is unmissable!

For the unversed, it was on June 27, 2022, when the Kapoor khandan’s bahu, Alia Bhatt had taken to her IG handle and had dropped two pictures to share the good news. In the first picture, we could see Ranbir and Alia adorably gazing at her ultrasonography report on sonography, while the second photograph had shown a family of lions. Alongside it, she had penned:

On June 29, 2022, Neetu Kapoor took to her IG handle and shared a priceless picture of her in-laws from her memory trunk. In the monochromatic portrait, we can see Neetu’s late saasu maa and sasur ji, Krishna Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor smiling while posing for the camera. Sharing the image, Neetu called Alia and Ranbir’s soon-to-be-born baby their blessings. This cryptic post of Neetu came two days after the announcement of their pregnancy. She captioned the image as:

On June 27, 2022, Neetu Kapoor had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a cutesy note for the parents-to-be, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. She had shared an unseen picture of Ranbir and Alia, when he had popped the million-dollar question to his ladylove and had proposed to her. While Alia had looked beautiful in a green-hued top and cream-coloured pants, Ranbir had looked handsome in the same coloured pants and blue shirt. Alongside it, the soon-to-be daadi had given her blessings for their new beginnings. She had written:

Fire Emblem Warriors

Fire Emblem : 9 tips and tricks to get started

Acting as both a sequel to Fire Emblem Warriors and somewhat of an alternate retelling of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes mixes all the best elements from the wildly popular strategy game but changes out the turn-based battles for the more action-focused, hack-and-slash Musou-style combat of a Warriors title. You play as a brand new hero this time around, and that has more than just narrative implications for the story of this game.

Fire Emblem Warriors

Before we even set foot on the battlefield, we need to pick our difficulty and mode in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Just like Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes lets you pick between two modes at the start that will drastically change how you approach the game and shouldn’t be decided on lightly since your mode cannot be changed without starting a new game. The two choices are Casual and Classic. This is obviously far more punishing but can also be much more rewarding depending on the type of experience you’re looking for.

Casual mode is geared toward those who are not looking for a super realistic or punishing experience. Despite being called Casual, you can think of this as more of a “normal” mode in most traditional games. This allows you to enjoy the full experience of the game without any extra stress of missing out on content if something goes wrong.

Classic mode is the one you want if you enjoy playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses, or any earlier entries, with the more realistic permadeath system in play. Just like in those games, any character who dies during battle in Classic mode is dead for good, meaning you can’t interact with them in any way if you lose them. This is obviously far more punishing but can also be much more rewarding depending on the type of experience you’re looking for.

Unlike your game mode, the actual difficulty setting can be changed after you select it. You begin with the standard Easy, Normal, and Hard modes, with the ability to unlock an extra Maddening difficulty once you beat the game once on any difficulty. These are fairly self-explanatory, with the higher difficulties making enemies more aggressive and harder to kill, and your gauges taking more time to fill up as you up the challenge.

Snap introduces a premium Snapchat app

In a significant departure from a business strategy that relies mostly on advertising, Snap-on Wednesday introduced a $3.99 monthly subscription version of the Snapchat app in the US and a few other territories.

At the debut, Snapchat+ will be accessible in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, according to Snap, which earlier this month previewed the subscription version.

Businesses are reducing their advertising budgets in reaction to rising expenses and decreased consumer spending, putting pressure on social media companies.
Snap’s shares dropped more than 40% in a single day last month after it said last month that it would miss its sales and profit goals for the second quarter and would have to restrict recruiting and reduce expenditure.

According to Snap’s senior vice president of product, Jacob Andreou, initial features in the premium edition include the option to modify the app’s icon and see who re-watched a story.

Chinese satellites capture photographs of the whole Mars globe

BEIJING: After orbiting Mars more than 1,300 times since the beginning of last year, an unmanned Chinese spacecraft has collected photographic data spanning the whole planet, including images of its south pole, state media announced on Wednesday.

China’s Tianwen-1 successfully completed its first journey to the Red Planet in February 2021. Since then, a robotic rover has been placed on the planet’s surface while an orbiter examined it from space.

China captured the first photos of the Martian south pole, where virtually all of the planet’s water resources are trapped, from orbit.
2018 saw the discovery of water beneath the ice at the planet’s south pole by an orbiting spacecraft run by the European Space Agency.

A permanent resource for any human investigation of the planet as well as a crucial step in establishing the planet’s potential for life is the discovery of subterranean water.

Other Tianwen-1 photos include shots of the Arabia Terra highlands in the north of Mars and the 4,000-kilometer (2,485-mile) long canyon Valles Marineris.
Tianwen-1 also returned top-down views of the 18,000-meter (59,055-foot) Ascraeus Mons, a sizable shield volcano that NASA’s Mariner 9 mission originally discovered more than 50 years ago, and high-resolution images of the edge of the enormous Maunder crater.

Hamilton demands retaliation for Piquet’s racial epithet

LONDON: After being the target of a racially insensitive remark said by three-time Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet, Lewis Hamilton stated the “time has come for action” in LONDON.

The governing body of Formula One and motorsport, the FIA, denounced the 69-year-old Brazilian who made the remarks on a podcast.

It’s more than just words, tweeted Hamilton. “These outdated viewpoints must shift because they have no place in our sport.

There has been ample opportunity for learning. The moment has arrived to act.

Hamilton also tweeted in Portuguese, saying, “Let’s work on altering the attitude.”
Piquet, who won the world championship in 1981, 1983, and 1987, used the phrase when describing a collision between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen of Red Bull on the opening lap of the 2017 British Grand Prix.

Verstappen’s partner is Kelly, who is his daughter.

In a statement, Formula One stated that “discriminatory or racial rhetoric is abhorrent in any form and has no place in society.”
“The FIA firmly condemns any racist or discriminatory language and behavior, which have no place in sport or wider society,” the organization stated in a statement.

We declare our unity with Lewis Hamilton and unwavering support for his dedication to inclusion, diversity, and equality in motorsports.

The lone black driver on the grid, Hamilton, has been a vocal advocate for more diversity in the sport.

Following the killing of George Floyd in the USA in 2020, the seven-time world champion frequently wore the phrase “black lives matter” on his clothing and kneeled before
