While recently visiting Mumbai, Priyanka Chopra provided an update on Farhan Akhtar’s film Jee Le Zaraa, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the key roles.

In an earlier interview with PTI, Priyanka also discussed how she approached Alia and Katrina to discuss the concept because she wanted to make a Hindi movie about the “terms of women.”

She went on to say that the actresses in her generation had done a great job of paving the way for future generations of performers. “So I really wanted to gather my pals together and say, “Let’s make a movie that will be ours and do well at the box office.” Then the stars lined up, and we made the decision.”

India’s anticipated urban development is putting pressure on cities.

MUMBAI: India’s urban population is expected to skyrocket in the coming decades, but its cities are already struggling to keep up, and climate change will make life even more difficult.

The population of Mumbai, one of India’s largest cities, has increased by over eight million during the past 30 years, or roughly the same as the entire city of New York, and is expected to rise by another seven million by the year 2035.

With almost 40% of the population living in slums, Mumbai’s housing, transportation, water, and waste management infrastructure has not kept up with neighbouring Indian megacities.

These dense clusters of run-down structures, which are located next to some of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in India, frequently lack regular power, water, or appropriate sanitation.

india

India’s anticipated urban development is putting pressure on cities.

It is a condition that is present all throughout the world as the global population approaches eight billion, with the majority living in developing nations.

Many commuters from Mumbai’s outskirts hang out in open spaces on crowded trains for hours, and others travel by car or motorcycle on congested, pothole-filled roads that flood during the monsoon season.

Mohammed Sartaj Khan, who is from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, moved to the largest slum, Dharavi, of “Slumdog Millionaire” renown, as a youngster and now works in a tannery, where a million people reside.

“In the village, I had a fantastic upbringing. Unlike the crowds here, it has a calm atmosphere “In the maze of lanes in Dharavi, Khan, now 35, spoke to AFP.

He said, “When I got here, I observed people running around like ants.” “The manner that ants continue to move in their lanes in the presence of people Nobody is concerned with others.”

However, he continued, “people don’t have money” in his village.

He used to make 6,000 rupees ($70) a month in Mumbai, but now he runs a machine and earns four times that amount. He transfers the majority of this money to his wife and kids, whom he rarely has the means to visit.

Untimely deaths

According to UN estimates, India’s population will increase from its current 1.4 billion people to surpass China’s and reach a peak of 1.7 billion in the 2060s before declining to 1.5 billion at the beginning of the next century.

According to the International Energy Agency, 270 million additional people would reside in Indian cities by 2040, increasing carbon emissions from power generation, transportation, and the construction of steel and concrete to house them.

In India’s megacities, crowded living conditions, poor infrastructure, and severe air, water, and noise pollution are commonplace.

According to a government assessment from last year, over 70% of the daily billions of litres of sewage produced in urban centres remains untreated.

Every winter, the 20 million-person metropolis of New Delhi is engulfed in deadly air pollution that, according to a Lancet research, resulted in about 17,500 preventable deaths in 2019.

Floods and droughts

Cities in India are home to millions of people who depend on truck or railway delivery for their daily supply of running water.

As groundwater levels fall, people in Delhi and other places are digging deeper and deeper wells.

In the summer of 2019, Chennai, in southeast India, ran out of water. This catastrophe was attributed to both low rains and urban development over historic wetlands.

Urban flooding is also happening more frequently.

The worst traffic congestion in India is found in Bengaluru, formerly known as Bangalore. In September, flooding was attributed to unauthorised development.

As the planet’s temperature warms and the weather becomes more unpredictable, it is predicted that natural disasters would bring India’s cities ever greater agony.

Scientists think that the annual monsoon rainy season, which increases both flooding and droughts, is growing more irregular and intense.

Indian summers are becoming more and more sweltering due to rising temperatures, especially in metropolitan areas where the heat is trapped by concrete. India saw its warmest March on record this year.

And even though Covid-19 did not have the negative effects on India’s slums as some had anticipated, their congestion makes them vulnerable to future outbreaks.

More rural economic investment, according to Poonam Muttreja of the Population Foundation of India, could reduce urban migration, whereas new financial incentives

Whether it be weather changes, flooding, jobs, or a lack of infrastructure, poor people, particularly migrants in cities, are most at risk from climate change, Muttreja told AFP.

“India has to change its perspective. And we need to stop whining and start acting instead.”

Punjab is asked to file a FIR on “merit” by the centre.

According to the Ministry of Interior’s letter dated November 5, the concerned Station House officer (SHO) or Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Punjab, as the complainant, must immediately register the FIR of the aforementioned case based on the facts of the incident and not on conjectures or speculative allegations as required by Section 154 of the CrPC,1898 because the delay is flagrantly illegal and has resulted in irreparable harm.

Punjab is asked to file a FIR on “merit” by the centre.

According to the letter, “The undersigned is directed to refer to the tragic incident of firing on the PTI convoy at Wazirabad on November 3, 2022 and to convey the federal government’s grave concerns on the mishandling of the high-profile case, which is evident from the fact that the FIR of the said case, ordinarily required to be registered within 24 hours of any incident, has not been registered even after the passage of more than 36 hours.

According to the letter, the province government’s lacklustre response to the regrettable incident can be seen in the FIR’s failure to be filed despite the fact that provincial police officers were there when the incident occurred.

According to the report, the provincial government has shown a complete unwillingness to offer any kind of justification for the unfortunate incident, including its failure to give the former prime minister adequate security and the obvious disregard for standard operating security procedures with regard to the convoy.

The federal administration has also emphasised that the former prime minister’s medico-legal assessment has not yet been completed. Concerningly, the provincial government has not provided any information regarding the crime’s weapon or if it has undergone forensic examination.

Additionally, the crime scene wasn’t secured for several hours after the incident, which is another another infraction of the protocol. Furthermore, no official details about the victims or the severity of their injuries have been made public. Finally, the disclosure of the suspected offender’s “confessional” footage reveals grave flaws in the investigation process.

It claims that the provincial government’s and its employees’ shortcomings in the aforementioned areas are evident indications of their improper handling of the situation and constitute criminal negligence.

semifinal

Big screen installation is mandated by CJP for the semifinal between Pakistan and New Zealand.

A large screen will be installed outside the Supreme Court so that people may watch the exciting semifinal between Pakistan and New Zealand, per an order from Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday.

The case against the NAB changes was heard by a three-member bench led by CJP Umar Ata Bandial, who had presided over the semi-final uproar in the highest court. The attorneys asked the SC to delay the hearing on the NAB amendment issue due to the match.

Due to Pakistan’s semifinal, attorney Makhdoom Ali Khan pleaded with the CJP to postpone the hearing scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
“I didn’t even know about the semifinal,” CJP admitted. Why don’t we hear the case today?” the CJP asked the attorneys.

There is already a pending case, according to Khawaja Haris, the PTI’s attorney. Justice Mansoor replied to Haris’ assertion by saying, “Mr. Khawaja Haris, skip tomorrow’s hearing for the semi-final as you are also a cricket fan. If it’s okay with you, Khawaja Haris, we’ll continue to watch the game while you continue to argue.

We will erect a giant screen to view the Pakistan-New Zealand match, CJP Umar Ata Bandial offered an intriguing suggestion. The CJP prayed for Pakistan to defeat New Zealand as well. He also hoped that the apex would quickly wrap up the case tomorrow. “Until then, the match’s condition will be exciting.”

Center won’t let Punjab IGP Faisal Shahkar leave his position

On Tuesday, the federal government steadfastly refused to terminate Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Faisal Shahkar’s employment.

The centre also gave t the go-ahead to remain the IGP for Punjab.

In this regard, the establishment division stated that no matter about IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar’s resignation from his position is being considered, adding that Faisal Shahkar had written to the federal government to inform them of his desire to resign from his position.

It is important to note that on November 6, Faisal Shahkar made the decision to resign and informed the federal government in writing that he would not be continuing in his position.

In a letter, Faisal Shahkar claimed that “personal issues” made it impossible for him to carry out his current tasks.

Therefore, he wrote, “I kindly request that my services be withdrawn with immediate effect from the government of Punjab and made available to the federal government.”
According to sources familiar with the situation, there were disagreements between the IG and the Punjab government on the filing of the FIR for the Wazirabad incident.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, vice chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had earlier sought the resignation of IG Punjab if a FIR of the event could not be filed.

Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis are dissatisfied that PCB released dressing room videos.

waqar

Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis are dissatisfied that PCB released dressing room videos.

Compared to other cricket teams, the Pakistan men’s squad has one of the most active social media presences.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) makes an effort to show supporters what their favourite players do when there isn’t action going on. A few examples are birthdays, gyms, and changing room films.

The PCB posted a video of Babar Azam’s remarks following the T20 World Cup match loss to India. They also released Babar’s video and mentor Matthew Hayden’s motivational speech yesterday after they advanced to the semifinals.

Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, two of Pakistan’s greatest cricketers, disagree with these videos.

Whatever occurs in a changing room should be kept private and not made public, according to the Sultan of Swing.

“If I were Babar, I would contact the person filming the video. Some things are sometimes private. I support social media, player engagement with fans, and everything else. But in this World Cup, I have not seen any other team do it? So, refrain from the impulse to gain more followers or likes. This is excessive “A regional sports channel, claimed Akram.

“Every moment, recordings are being made. Imagine giving a message to my team while sitting down without realising someone is recording. Simply say to him, “Guys, unwind for two days.” Do it elsewhere, not in the dressing room.”

After watching a clip from the film in which Babar is seen telling batter Mohammad Haris to leave the game early for his team, the 56-year-old voiced his opinion. Haris was out on the penultimate delivery of the 17th over with Pakistan just seven runs shy of Bangladesh’s 128-run goal while batting on 31 off 18 balls.

“Haris, you played exceptionally well. However, these little things will boost your self-assurance. For instance, your level will change as you finish a game. Make sure you don’t lose a wicket when you have the game in your hands. Wherever you play, our seniors informed me that when you win a game, your confidence level rises “In the video, Babar added.

Waqar, who up until last year served as the team’s bowling coach, asserted that such team discussions and get-togethers ought to be public knowledge.

According to him, Pakistan has a history of information leaks, player fights, and other such occurrences.

“I completely concur with you. Anything that occurs in the dressing room should remain there. People used to yell, dispute, and fight because of this issue, which existed before as well when a lot of information was released to the media. And now that you have captured it and are broadcasting it to the globe, “Waqar made reference.

Imran Khan will contest the FIR filed in connection with the attempted murder in Wazirabad.

FIR

Imran Khan will contest the FIR filed in connection with the attempted murder in Wazirabad.

Imran Khan, a former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared on Tuesday that he will contest the First Information Report (FIR) of the assassination attempt filed by the Wazirabad police.

The PTI leader claimed that he knew he would be shot and that a video had been taken of him naming those responsible for the attack. He also claimed that a plot had been devised to kill him in a similar manner to how Punjab Governor Salman Taseer was slain by using religious extremism.

Imran Khan continued by asserting that the allegations in accused Naveed’s testimony were untrue and that accused Naveed had no communication with Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leader Saad Rizivi.

Imran continued, “I have no problems with the army; our only disagreement is the accountability procedure.

In response to a different query, he stated that a coalition government should never be established since blackmail would then always be possible. Imran Khan declared, “If there is a two-thirds majority, the prime minister is strong and can work better.

In the past, a police report detailing an assault on Imran Khan during the long march was filed in Wazirabad.

Details indicate that sub-inspector Aamir Shahzad filed the FIR on Monday night. Only Naveed, the individual who was immediately apprehended, has been listed as an accused in the shooting case that resulted in the death of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The complaint was registered under the rules of murder, attempted murder, and anti-terrorism.

According to the FIR, Imran Khan was travelling by container from Allah wala chowk to Wazirabad at around 4 pm when the suspect, Naveed, started shooting with a handgun. Muazzam, a PTI member who participated in the march, passed away from bullet wounds, and the PTI chairman was hurt on the container. The FIR also listed 11 known injuries and a few unknown ones.

A PTI employee allegedly sought to apprehend the accused Naveed, preventing him from firing any further while he was being detained by the employee. Imran Khan travelled for Lahore for better treatment following the unfortunate occurrence after receiving medical attention.

The Long March attack, on the other hand, happened at Wazirabad, which is a part of Gujarat division. Wazirabad had been declared a district and added to Gujarat Division via a notification from the Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

Imran Khan and other leaders were shot during the long march, according to the police’s FIR, which was recorded in Gujranwala.

In this regard, the sources said that the change in district may have an impact on the investigation; however, the police dismissed this as a clerical error and promised to fix it.

According to Sanaullah, Arshad Sharif died in a “targeted strike.”

In Kenya, Sharif was allegedly shot dead by the local police on the evening of October 23. The local police initially claimed that Sharif was killed by police in a case of “mistaken identity,” according to the Kenyan media.

However, following accounts from the Kenyan media reconstructed the circumstances leading up to the murder, indicating that it was alleged that a passenger in Sharif’s car at the time of his death fired at paramilitary General Service Unit (GSU) officers.

The government then assembled a team and sent them to Kenya to look into the murder.

Sanaullah stated today during a press conference in Islamabad that the team had updated him on the inquiry after arriving from Kenya.

Sanaullah

According to Sanaullah, Arshad Sharif died in a “targeted strike.”

“We have made the decision to ask the ambassador and foreign minister for the information gathered by Kenyan officials.

“Prima facie, it is a targeted murder as the narrative of’mistaken identification’ has not been confirmed […] and there are numerous uncertainties,” he added, adding that more details will become available only when a thorough investigation was carried out.

Sanaullah added that Sharif’s automobile was shot at in a “very technical manner.”

How did the cops find Arshad’s seat [in the car]? My opinion is that the gunmen were aware of Arshad Sharif’s identity and the location of his seat in the car. The driver was also aware of where and what was about to happen.

The minister claimed that the items taken from the crime site by the police had not yet been returned. Many items have been recovered, however some are still in the Kenyan police’s custody.

Sanaullah claimed that the chief justice could consider Sharif’s mother’s complaints about the investigation and name a new chairman of the commission to look into the murder.

“That would make us happier, I think. I have faith that the suspects will be found quickly, he continued.

Sharif’s mother asked the CJP to form a judicial committee made up of senior Supreme Court judges last week in a letter to the SC in order to ascertain the true reason for and identify the perpetrators of her son’s murder.

Austria tightens its nuclear-free stance while its neighbors expand

Austria digs in its heels on its opposition to nuclear power while its neighbors build-out.

Austria remains anti-nuclear as neighbors expand

After media reports surfaced that the Czech Republic was moving through with plans to construct new nuclear reactors near the Austrian border, the government declared it would maintain its long-held anti-nuclear position against its neighbors.

Anti-nuclear sentiment in Austria is among Europe’s strongest, and the country’s lone nuclear power plant was never put into service. In response to the European Commission’s decision to classify nuclear power as “green” under the EU sustainable finance taxonomy, Vienna has filed suit against the EU.

According to 1, Green Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler has declared that the government will continue to build its anti-nuclear position toward neighboring countries.

Meanwhile, neighboring Czechia has six nuclear reactors running, supplying around 37% of the country’s electrical needs. Despite a predicted overall increase in electricity demand, the government wants to have nuclear produce half of the country’s electricity in roughly 20 years.

The Czech government is putting a lot of faith in small modular reactors, or nuclear power facilities, to help them accomplish their ambitious nuclear expansion goals (SMRs). No SMRs have been built, so they are still years away from being available for purchase.

Austria’s third-largest city of Linz is about 100 kilometers from Temelin, where the Czech Republic is considering building two conventional reactors.

The mayor of a border town, Anita Gstöttenmayr, has remarked that the reactors may be seen from certain vantage points since “Temelin is only about 50 kilometers away from the center of our village.” Something is being “simply considered or decided” without us knowing, she said.

Anti-nuclear Cities in Austria are now threatening to take the issue to the streets through protests and street blockages.

“I know it sounds dumb, but we will have to take to the streets again to make a difference,” the mayor continued.

Imran’s letter puts Alvi in the firing line.

Alvi is now in the target’s sights after receiving Imran’s letter.

Alvi gets Imran's letter
President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi.

In April, when Imran Khan was removed from office after a vote of no confidence in the House of Representatives, and Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in as prime minister in his stead, one man found himself torn between his constitutional obligation and his loyalty to his party.

Arif Alvi was one of PTI’s senior leaders before he became president, and he stuck by Imran through the ups and downs of his long fight for political power.

Now he had to work with the prime minister, who according to his boss was imposed on Pakistan. There was, thus, an effort to discourage President Alvi from working with the coalition administration.

At first, he did as his boss asked and didn’t give the new prime minister an oath of office. Later on, though, he seemed to accept this as fact and make more of an effort to govern as president than as a PTI partisan. Recently, President Alvi has emphasised the importance of communication among the many parties involved, and he has held at least two meetings between the army chief and the former prime minister.

However, the PTI leader apparently had some issues with President Alvi, especially after the failed assassination attempt. Imran hoped the president will take a firm stand on the matter.

On the occasion of the president’s visit to the Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore to check on Imran, Alvi met with his party chairman for an extensive discussion of the present political situation.

Many political experts believe that Imran was prompted to write a letter to the president demanding accountability from high-ranking military personnel after that lengthy discussion.

The PTI wrote to President Alvi urging him to “act now” to end the misuse of authority and constitutional violations.

The former prime minister wrote a letter to the president on Sunday, complaining about the “increasing scale of false allegations, harassment, arrests, and custodial torture” that the country has faced since the PTI administration was overthrown.

He said that he had been aware of an assassination plot “hatched by PM Shehbaz, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and a senior military official,” and that he had received “repeated death threats” from Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.

The plot was put into motion earlier this week during our lengthy march, but Allah spared me, and the assassination attempt was foiled, he said.

Specifically, Imran urged President Alvi to take note of the “following serious wrongdoings that undermine Pakistan’s national security” in his capacity as head of state and “also as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces under Article 243 (2)” of the Constitution.

He then requested that Alvi head an investigation find those responsible “and hold them accountable.”

He outlined the “wrongdoings” in a brief three-point list.

First, he claimed that the media’s disclosure of a private conversation between himself, the chief of army staff (COAS), and another military officer constituted a violation of the Official Secrets Act.

This, he said, posed the “very serious question as to who or what organisation was involved in doing a clearly illegal wiretap of the PM’s secure phone line,” calling the act a “breach of national security on the highest level.”

His second argument was that our envoy to the United States had reported hearing a direct threat of regime change from a United States official and that this threat had been repeated verbatim by our envoy.

He went on to say that during his time as prime minister, the issue was discussed at a National Security Council (NSC) meeting, where it was “clearly decided this was an unacceptable intrusion into our internal matters and the NSC decided on a demarche to be issued by MoFA to the US envoy in Islamabad.”

According to Imran, “the NSC meeting held under the Shehbaz Sharif government reaffirmed the NSC decision.”

Accordingly, “on 27 October 2022, the DG ISI and the DG ISPR held a joint press conference in which the former contradicted the decision made by the NSC under two governments by asserting that the message of the US government conveyed by our envoy in Washington DC in the cypher was not an unacceptable intrusion into our internal affairs but simply a case of misconduct.'”

He raised the “serious issue of these military bureaucrats deliberately trying to create a false narrative” and wondered how two military officers could “publicly contradict a decision of the NSC.”

The PTI chief said that two other issues that needed to be looked into were how the head of Pakistan’s premier intelligence agency could hold a public press conference, and how two military bureaucrats could hold a highly political press conference aimed at the head of the largest and possibly only federal political party in Pakistan today.

Finally, Imran remarked, “the parameters of a military information organisation like the ISPR also need to be clearly defined and limited to information relating to defence and military issues.”

He urged President Alvi, “as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces,” to lead the process of “drawing up of these clear operational lines for the ISPR.”

Alvi “must protect its democracy and its Constitution,” Imran said, adding that he and the president were in charge of Pakistan.

The law applies equally to everyone, he said.

The former prime minister reaffirmed that “massive abuse of citizens at the hands of rogue elements within state organisations,” including “custodial torture and abductions,” were being “carried out with impunity” in the country.

Imran ended his letter by saying, “You hold the highest Office of State and I am requesting you to act now to stop the abuse of power and violations of our laws and of the Constitution, which ensures the fundamental rights of every citizen.”

Experts say the president has no legal or constitutional power to do anything, despite Imran’s letter.

Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency head Ahmed Bilal Mehboob said, “At best he can forward the letter to the ministry of defence or the GHQ” (PILDAT).

While the president is technically in charge of the military, he has no real administrative authority and must instead rely on the prime minister’s recommendations.

To do so, Bilal remarked, “but he can create a nuisance,” adding that the president’s action would be suicidal.

Imran Khan’s assault report was filed after the SC issued a stern warning.

Imran khan’s FIR was filed after an ultimatum from the Supreme Court

Imran attack' FIR registered after SC ultimatum

The first information report (FIR) of a gun attack on PTI Chairman and former premier Imran Khan during the party’s long march was registered on Monday at City Police Station Wazirabad in LAHORE after the Supreme Court gave Inspector General (IG) Punjab Faisal Shahkar a 24-hour ultimatum.

Naveed, who was apprehended at the scene, has been named as the prime suspect in a case that has been filed on multiple counts, including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and criminal conspiracy.

On Tuesday (today), per the Supreme Court’s directives, the FIR would be submitted to the court for consideration.

A relative of Imran Khan and general secretary of the PTI’s Lahore chapter, Zubair Niazi, went to the station house officer (SHO) and asked him to file a first information report (FIR) against the prime minister, the interior minister, and a senior military officer, all of whom were named by Imran as suspects in the attempted assassination.

The FIR was filed based on a complaint by a sub-inspector of police, and the three high-ranking officials the PTI head named are not suspects.

In response to the news, PTI Leader Fawad Chaudhry stated that his party would only recognize the FIR as legitimate if the names of the three top officials were included in it.

If the top officials weren’t named in the FIR, he said, they’d see it as meaningless. We will not tolerate any changes to the names.

According to a tweet posted by PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi, the Punjab administration prevented the IG Punjab from filing the FIR against “unidentified” people.

“Prevented IG Punjab from filing a missing person report.”

The former prime minister was leading the PTI’s “Haqeeqi Azadi March” in Wazirabad last Thursday when a shooter opened fire on his container, wounding him in the leg.

Senator Faisal Javed, former Sindh governor Imran Ismail, Ahmad Chattha, and Imran Yousaf were among the PTI chairman’s inner circle who were hurt in the attack, and one of them was killed.

Naveed, the suspect, was taken into custody without incident. The guy eventually confessed to investigators that he had fired shots at the container.

He insisted that he acted alone and blamed some of Imran’s words for offending his religious sensibilities, but he stood by his earlier statements.

The videos were reportedly stored on his mobile device. Moreover, a few religious scholars’ speeches were retrieved from his phone. The accused claimed he frequently attended religious lectures.

Federal authorities and detectives have been unanimous in their belief that the attacker acted alone. The PTI leadership, including Imran, has maintained that Naveed was merely a pawn in an assassination plan orchestrated by three of the country’s most influential figures.

Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court ordered Inspector General of Punjab Faisal Shahkar to file a formal First Information Report (FIR) against those responsible for the attack on the PTI head and to submit a report within 24 hours.

The case was presided over by a five-judge bigger bench led by Pakistan’s Chief Justice (CJP), Umar Ata Bandial.

You’ve proven to be a trustworthy and capable law enforcement official. The Supreme Court will guarantee that your efforts will be unimpeded. Please give us a chance and file a police report. The chief justice urged me to proceed.

We are not acting of our own volition,” Justice Bandial said. We will move on with an earlier suo motu matter concerning executive influence in the criminal justice system if they continue to drag out the case.

Further, Justice Bandial emphasized that it is the Supreme Court’s duty to ensure that justice is administered in conformity with the law.

We just want to make sure your work isn’t disrupted in any way,” the chief justice continued.

Along with ordering the IG to collect forensic evidence, Justice Bandial reassured him that a “different view” from the provincial administration would not prevent a thorough probe.

The chief judge of the highest court in the land has said that an attempt was made on the life of a national leader and that a suo moto notice will be issued if the court is not pleased with the police report.

Shahkar has already stated his disagreement with the provincial government to the bench.

It’s important to remember that Shahkar had asked to be removed from his position in the Punjab administration with “immediate effect” as the impasse over filing a formal report of the attack on the PTI leader lingered.

The IG of Punjab wrote to the provincial administration, explaining that he was unable to continue in his role due to “personal reasons” and asking to be put at the federal government’s disposal.

The appointment of a new Punjab IG, however, has been put on hold, according to sources who spoke to The Express Tribune. The Centre is not in a rush to offer his replacement.

There was a growing chasm between the IG and the Punjab government and PTI, and sources say it was because the IG had expressed qualms about the names being listed in the FIR.

At the same hearing, PTI Senator Azam Swati appeared before the judge.

The Chief Justice Informant informed him that the SC HR unit was reviewing his case.

When asked about the leaked “private video” of him and his wife, Swati stated that the location was actually the federal lodge in Quetta and not the SC rest house.

Your complaint hurts, but the court is cautious about taking action on its own initiative (suo motu notice). You have senior senator status. The chief justice encouraged Swati, “Be brave.”

Justice Bandial stated during the hearing that the HR cell had also looked into the concerns raised by Arshad Sharif’s mother, who had written a letter to the chief justice asking for an investigation into her son’s death to be conducted by a special commission of senior judges.

The cell had requested a report from the fact-finding team when they returned from Kenya, the court said.

A petition to preserve police officers’ tenure under the Constitution was previously rejected by the registrar’s office, but the same court ultimately upheld the petition.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the PTI Punjab government’s four-year tenure resulted in the replacement of eight IGs, negatively impacting the province’s security. The bench has requested that this matter be brought before the bench for a hearing, and the registrar’s office has been instructed to do so.

On Monday, Federal Minister for the Interior Rana Sanaullah Khan said the PTI chairman might leave politics for good if he could provide proof that he had been shot four times.

The interior minister told reporters outside the parliament that the government was willing to participate in the probe into the attack on Imran.

He insisted that the former prime minister be examined by a neutral medical board to determine whether or not he sustained four bullet wounds.

A disciplined institution, Sanaullah observed, the Pakistani Army could not tolerate anyone who went against the official position.

He also added that the DG ISPR’s remark on the extension of the army chief’s term was adequate.

He said that the provincial government was encouraging unrest and that the Punjab police were helping the demonstrators.

Sanaullah added that manipulating the judiciary and the Pakistan Army for politics was disastrous for the country and that Imran Khan picked three names because he wants instability in the country.

He went on to say, “PTI has wasted enough time and it is too late for a long march, however, the government is ready to receive them and had completed all arrangements by November 4,”

priyanka advocates child rights at unga stands alongside malala yousafzai amanda gorman 001

Priyanka Chopra is a strong advocate for women’s equality.

Priyanka Chopra visited Lucknow earlier today while she is having a great time in India. She spent time with female police officers and interacted with some energetic children.

She posted on Instagram, saying, “Right now, I’m in Lucknow, India, working with UNICEF, and I’m incredibly excited about this field trip. Several of my formative years were spent in Lucknow attending school. I’m curious to learn how things have changed for women and children in the state of Uttar Pradesh because I have family and friends here. I want to witness directly how innovation and technology are bringing about that change on a large scale.

We are visiting different UNICEF partners to examine the work being done to stop violence and discrimination against girls, she continued. I will learn about the difficulties they encounter every day and observe the available answers because scaled-down solutions are what are required. Women and girls hold the key to securing better futures for their communities as well as themselves, as I have stated numerous times.

Priyanka also looked at the unique needlework and other ethnic items from the city.

Twitter is on a firing spree and fires over 90% of its Indian employees.

Twitter has undergone remarkable changes since Elon Musk, a wealthy businessman, took control of the company. People have been shocked by one of these developments, in which the microblogging site sacked over 90% of its staff in India over the weekend.

The change is a result of Musk’s aim to lower Twitter’s expenses globally, but it has reduced the company’s product and engineering team in a market with enormous growth potential.

According to persons with knowledge of the situation who spoke to Bloomberg under the condition of anonymity, the company currently employs just over a dozen people in India, when it had just over 200 employees before the drastic reduction.

Many Big Tech companies, including Twitter, Google, and Meta Platforms, rely on India’s enormous potential to attract new users online as one of the most potential-driven countries in the world for growth in the tech sector.

But when it comes to the material on their platforms, these businesses also run afoul of stringent laws in the nation.

The most recent employment cuts for Twitter in India targeted the product and engineering departments. One of the participants, who desired to remain anonymous, claimed that the teams were carrying out a worldwide mandate for the microblogging platform.

According to Bloomberg, the company also made promotions in its marketing, public policy, and corporate communications divisions. The corporation has reduced its workforce in San Francisco by around half of its overall number.

The Twitter offices in India are located in Bengaluru, a major IT hub, New Delhi, and Mumbai.

According to Bloomberg, the corporation only has roughly 3,700 employees worldwide. Musk is pressuring the company’s remaining staff to deliver new features, with some apparently staying up late to fulfil deadlines in their offices.

Global Warming: Time is running out to stop global warming.

Global Warming: 33 million Pakistanis were affected by the recent flash floods, which were mostly caused by global warming and the resulting climate change and resulted in losses of over $30 billion.

Unfortunately, we are trying to externalize the problem by saying that other countries are the only ones responsible for the harms by using the justification that we emit less than 1% of greenhouse gases (GHG). Even 1% is not really a figure we should be proud of; rather, it is merely an indicator of how far behind those other countries’ industrial progress we are. These other nations are already making corrections, whereas we don’t seem to have learned anything from their experiments and errors.

Global Warming

It is necessary to define some of the terminology mentioned above, including greenhouse gases, in order to move on. It is common practice to grow plants in regulated settings. Such structures are referred to as greenhouses, where the plants and air are heated by solar rays and the majority of that heat is trapped inside the building, keeping it warm to the necessary temperature for the plants’ growth. The same idea applies to the earth’s atmosphere; during the day, the sun heats it, and at night, as the earth cools, the heat is radiated back into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere absorb the aforementioned heat, keeping the earth’s surface warm and livable.

Over 79%, 16%, and 6% of all emissions that are created by people worldwide are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, respectively. Their ability to harm varies, though. Methane survives in the atmosphere for just a little over 10 years, but 40% of carbon dioxide does after 100 years. However, methane has a 25 times greater global warming impact than carbon dioxide over the same period of time. In actuality, nitrous oxide has a 300-fold increase. The warmth already brought on by GHG emissions is increased because these gases also contribute to global warming and warmer air carries more water vapours, which has the effect of increasing the capacity of those vapours to absorb and hold heat.

The aforementioned phenomena have caused an increase in global average temperature of 1 degree Celsius since preindustrial times. Heat waves, floods, a rise in sea levels due to glaciers melting, an increase in ocean temperatures, etc. are all effects of the resulting global warming. The temperature mentioned here might reach 2.4 degrees Celsius by 2100 if uncontrolled.

Political parties and fully developed green movements were beginning to form by the middle and end of the 1960s. From 1998 through 2005, the German Green Party even remained a coalition partner. Since the Stockholm UN Conference on Human Environment in 1972, environmental conservation has been more prominent as a result of this knowledge. Following the conference, the UN drafted an international environmental treaty at the Earth Summit in Brazil in June 1992. The ensuing Kyoto Protocol, which went into effect in 2005, established legally bound emission targets for 37 industrialised nations.

The Paris Agreement replaced the protocol in 2015 with the primary objective of keeping global warming, ideally, to 1.5 degrees Celsius over pre-industrial levels.

Pakistan is facing an existential dilemma that calls for extensive relevant expertise, experience, and leadership capacity. Pakistan must quickly hand over control of this to experts in order to effectively address the threat because the window for action is now closed.

Pakistan wants to switch to 60% clean renewable energy by 2030, increasing hydel capacity by over 50%, employing 30% electric vehicles, and banning all imports of coal while concentrating on gasifying and liquefying domestic coal.

The largest concern is not a lack of funding; rather, it is the absence of the professional competence to organise and carry out the aforementioned major transition. The structures that drive such transformations in other nations are completely absent here. The World Economic Forum’s Global Energy Transition Index, which ranks Pakistan 104th out of 115 countries with a score of 49, best captures our woeful readiness for the switch to renewable energy.

Liverpool’s Salah double lifts Arsenal back to first place.

Arsenal defeated Chelsea 1-0 to allay concerns about their chances of winning the Premier League and go atop the standings, while Liverpool recovered with a 2-1 victory at Tottenham.

On the day of Unai Emery’s managerial debut, an inspired Aston Villa destroyed Manchester United 3-1, while Newcastle climbed up to third place with a 4-1 victory at Southampton.

At Stamford Bridge, Gabriel Magalhaes headed in Bukayo Saka’s corner for the lone goal, but the narrow margin of victory was the absolute least Arsenal deserved.

Chelsea failed to contribute much offensively as they suffered their first consecutive Premier League losses in two years.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was filled with pride as he said, “For such a young team, the maturity, the poise they showed, the perseverance and courage to play how we wanted to play was fantastic to do it against these kind of guys.”

“Winning at this stadium is an extra thing, another step for this team to maintain their confidence that they can perform well under pressure and against strong opposition.”

With a win, Arsenal moves back up to the top of the standings, two points ahead of Manchester City.

United had gone nine games without a loss, and under Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils seemed to be coming into their own.

Even so, the United squad’s lack of depth was revealed as Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane were sidelined due to injuries, while Bruno Fernandes was suspended.

Leon Bailey’s collision with David de Gea and Lucas Digne’s free kick finding the top corner of the net inside of 11 minutes gave Emery the best possible start to his tenure as Villa manager.

Ten Hag stated, “You have to be prepared for the game, we weren’t. “Both at the beginning of the first half and the beginning of the second half, we lost the game. That can’t happen.”

Just before halftime, a shot from Luke Shaw that Jacob Ramsey diverted into his own net gave the visitors hope.

However, Villa promptly regained a two-goal advantage when Ramsey side-footed a shot into the top corner after 49 minutes.

Only a few weeks after being punished for defying Ten Hag’s orders to enter as a substitute, Cristiano Ronaldo led United.

Once substitute Chris Wood struck the far corner and Kieran Trippier set up Joe Willock to make it 3-0, there was no way back for Ralph Hassenhuttl’s team.

Romain Perraud scored a goal with one minute remaining, but Bruno Guimaraes’ curling strike into the bottom corner gave Newcastle the victory and kept the Saints in the relegation zone.
