Kaia Gerber’s Halloween Look Is Wearable All Year.

Although Halloween is officially today, true celebrants have been dressing up all weekend. Celebrities dressed to the nines for the annual Casamigos bash in Los Angeles, including Rebel Wilson as Barbie, Cindy Crawford as a cowgirl, and Crawford’s model daughter Kaia Gerber as the butt-kicking Trinity from The Matrix. We were drawn to Gerber’s stylish attire because it was so fashionable.

With a black patent trench coat, matching boots, and dark, tinted sunglasses (don’t forget the slicked-back hair! ), Gerber perfectly captured Trinity’s look. Although it is easily recognisable, it is also very wearable outside of a costume party setting. Take a look at the most recent Balenciaga show to notice the abundance of head-to-toe leather ensembles that were also paired with sleek black sunglasses.
Leather trench coats were also available from Coach and Bottega Veneta. You can wear them with almost anything, so you don’t need to wear the trench to battle enemies and avoid bullets with air-bending abilities. They’re a fantastic autumn/winter statement accessory that instantly gives any outfit edge. Not to mention that it matches Gerber’s refined, fitted personal style well.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits the site of the Morbi bridge collapse.

Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, visited Morbi in his home state of Gujarat to see for himself the site of Sunday’s bridge collapse, which killed 135 people.

The 140-year-old Machchu River bridge collapsed just days after it reopened after repairs.

Divers are still searching for victims’ remains.

Nine people have been arrested, including employees of a company hired to maintain the bridge.

The 230m (754ft) bridge was built during British rule in the 1870s.

It reopened last week after being closed for months for repairs, according to the state’s tourism website.

According to reports, hundreds of people were on the structure when it collapsed. Some jumped into the water, while others clung to the wreckage.

The swiftly moving water swept away many victims. According to officials, the majority of the victims were women, children, and the elderly.

Following his visit to the scene on Tuesday, Mr Modi’s office stated that he stressed the importance of “conducting a detailed and extensive inquiry,” adding that “the key learnings from the inquiry must be implemented as soon as possible.”

Men were bringing in new beds and fresh linen for the injured patients at the government-run civil hospital, which I visited in the morning.

The townspeople’s lives are slowly returning to normal as stores are reopening and there is street traffic.

But Jhulto Pul, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the town and the location of the tragedy on Sunday, is completely silent.

Only the rescue boats’ purring engines can be heard as they continue to circle the murky river waters in search of any additional bodies.

Wednesday will be a day of mourning in Gujarat.

After concerns were raised regarding whether safety inspections were performed before the bridge was reopened, authorities pledged to conduct a thorough investigation.

The nine people detained, according to the police, are all connected to the Oreva group, the company hired to maintain and run the bridge.

They consist of three security officers, two contractors, two managers, and two ticket clerks. According to senior police officer Ashok Kumar Yadav, they are being looked into for culpable homicide that is not murder.

The company has been charged with numerous offences, including failing to get a fitness certificate from the municipality, among others.

Itaewon: crush’s 5 friends went out to celebrate Halloween, but only 2 returned home.

Itaewon: The bodies of young people and their distraught parents are now crammed into the funeral houses of Seoul. Mr. Sim and his wife are slumped on a little sofa at the end of a long hallway, unable to lift their heads.

Itaewon: crush’s 5 friends went out to celebrate Halloween, but only 2 returned home.

The body of their son James Sim, age 28, is located inside one of the chambers. Yoon, a friend of James, is in the room next door. James’ girlfriend is also lying in a funeral home on the other side of town.

Together with two other friends, they had traveled to Itaewon on Saturday night to celebrate Halloween. The evening was organized by James. He was always the planner since he enjoyed going out with his buddies, according to his mother.

James was one of the 155 people who died in a crowd crush that happened when a small bar-lined corridor got too crowded. His parents, like many others, woke up to discover their son’s bed empty, which was the first indication that anything was amiss. James’ father made calls to him from his buddies. Police responded.

Itaewon: crush’s 5 friends went out to celebrate Halloween, but only 2 returned home.

Two of the companions managed to claw their way through the crowd and climb onto some railings at the edge of the alleyway as they were stuck in the deadly crash. Yoon, James, and his girlfriend were unable to see it.

Itaewon: According to his mother, James enjoyed working out and spent most of his free time in the gym bulking up by lifting weights. How this did not save him baffles her.

127461709 mediaitem127461708.jpg 1

According to James’ father, his relationship was becoming more serious. If they had lived, he and his girlfriend would have soon gotten married. He was a conscientious plumber at work, but his hobbies were skiing and surfing. As she describes the things he enjoyed doing, his mother’s eyes crinkle with a glimmer of delight; yet, when his father gets close, tears start to pour.

He remembers that “James was the best older brother.” What will happen to my younger son without him?
Twelve of his old schoolmates are seated in the room next to his shrine. Since they were eight years old, Park Ju-sung has been his closest friend.

“James was my only friend growing up because I was such a shy kid,” claims Ju-sung. He urged me to learn Taekwondo alongside him and extended invitations to everything. He encouraged me to be more outgoing.”
Yoon, a friend of James, whose memorial sits in the adjacent room, was mature beyond his 28 years and at ease with himself. He cherished discovery. According to Jung-Su, who claims he respected his confidence, he used to go to bars alone at night and make an effort to interact with foreigners in order to learn their languages.

How the Halloween tragedy unfolded in South Korea

In the heart of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, thousands of people, mostly young people, had gathered in Itaewon.

It is a buzzing nightlife area with numerous winding lanes and streets lined with bars and eateries.

According to some reports, the neighbourhood had been overrun by 100,000 people that evening.

Videos on social media show streams of people arriving to celebrate Halloween starting in the early evening on Saturday in the neighbourhood served by Itaewon metro station.

In the audience was 32-year-old Nuhyil Ahammed. The local resident and IT professional from India has previously attended Halloween parties in Itaewon, but claims that this year was quite different.

“It was insane,” “Too many people began to clog the streets around 5 o’clock. So I wondered, what will life be like in seven or eight years?”

At this time, individuals were complaining on social media about how unsafe they felt walking through the district’s congested streets.

Several hours prior to the fatal crush in an off-road alley, Itaewon made the first call to the police at 18:34 local time.

“People are currently moving up and down that alley, making it extremely hazardous. If more people keep moving up that alley, it will eventually be destroyed. I hardly made it outside since it was so busy. I think you ought to manage it “said the caller.

Some people may be seen in video posted on social media trying to scale the buildings’ sides to get away.

Fire officials said they were notified at 22:24 that 10 persons were being forced down beneath the mob and had trouble breathing.

According to the authorities, the first four ambulances arrived at 22:27, and six more arrived a short while after.

At 02:30, the initial death toll was announced. Officials said that 150 persons had been injured in addition to the 59 fatalities. After an hour, there were 120 dead and 100 injured. As the night went on, the figures continued to grow and soon reached 150.

Yoon Suk-yeol, the president of South Korea, convened an emergency meeting shortly after the disaster began to take place and declared that the reason of the crush will be looked into. He declared a day of national mourning on Sunday morning.

Bollywood: A non-trans star portrays the trans icon

Sushmita Sen, a former Miss Universe and non-trans actress, has been cast in the lead role of a Bollywood film about a transgender activist. The choice has divided the transgender community in India, with some saying that one of the numerous trans actresses vying for a breakthrough role should have received it.

The interview had gone smoothly.

The part of the leading lady’s best friend was open to Navya Singh. She had delivered her words with assurance that erred on the side of modesty. She had been amiable with just a hint of sexiness—not enough to steal the show, though. Most significantly, she had recalled her lines.

But after she was done, the silence in the room lasted longer than was comfortable.

One of the casting directors finally raised their hands.

But are you a guy or a woman, he questioned Navya?

Navya claims, “I felt my heart fall to my feet.” “As an actress in Bollywood, I had become accustomed to this type of obnoxious remark. But things remained the same.”

Navya had relocated to Mumbai, the centre of the Hindi film industry, or Bollywood, at the age of 18, from rural Bihar, and there she came out as a trans woman.

She met LGBT dancers, models, designers, and actresses once she arrived. Some of them were well-known figures who appeared in the most well-known films and commercials in the nation, but others, particularly the trans community members, were having difficulties. A few people she knew used sex work as a means of survival in between acting, dancing, and modelling jobs.

“Trans jobs are hard to get by in Bollywood,” she claims. “You often don’t hear back after trying out for movies or fashion shows. Even gay fashion producers and designers won’t let us in.”

Experts come together to discuss safe business practices at ‘Safety in Supply Chain’ event

ISLAMABAD: Telenor Pakistan hosted an event on “Safety in Supply Chain”, where industry experts deliberated on critical areas such as policymaking, legislation, and their on-ground implementation in complex multi-layered supply chains. The discussion also revolved around ways to improve best practices across different businesses and industries. Representatives from Nokia, Schlumberger, Attock Refinery, Nayatel, and Engro Enfrashare participated in the first-of-its-kind talk at Telenor Pakistan’s 345 Campus in Islamabad.

Addressing the keynote at the event, Tone Elisabeth Aastveit Skuterud, Head of GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance), HSS (Health Safety and Security) and Sustainability, Telenor Asia, said that Telenor’s Supplier Conduct Principles (SCP) are based on internationally recognised standards, including requirements on human rights, health and safety, labour rights, environment, and anti-corruption.

“We recognise that an advanced Health, Safety and Security (HSS) culture is essential to maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment. Telenor’s ambition is zero injuries to employees and business partners which encompass HSS being fully embedded in all aspects of the business. We are committed to raising HSS awareness and culture among employees and business partners,” she said. “For me personally, HSS practices are not just about requirements and compliance, but about showing how you can care for the people around you.”

Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Operating Officer, Telenor Pakistan, in his opening remarks said that a safety culture is a combination of mandatory practices & procedures, strict compliance, accountability and behaviour development through trainings and communication; these together constitute an organisation’s commitment to health and safety management. As safety standards and best practices evolve with technology and better risk awareness, organisations must also extend their sustainable safety performance management across their supply chains.”

“Telenor Pakistan aims to become a practice leader and a driver for improvement by initiating this dialogue to highlight common challenges and share experiences to build on each other’s learnings,” he added.

According to the panellists, workplace incidents often result from a combination of underlying causes, such as governance gaps, deficient legislative frameworks, insufficient knowledge and resources, unsafe business practices, and the absence of a proactive safety culture at national and workplace levels. Moreover, they were of the opinion that the government needs to collaborate with the private sector to understand the dynamics of domestic, regional, and global supply chains and how they are interconnected.

Most organisations are unaware of Occupational Safety and Health risks and hazards and often do not see the importance and urgency of addressing those risks and dangers. According to the International Labour Organization, 2.2 million people die yearly due to work-related accidents or illnesses, more than 270 million workers are injured, and an estimated 160 million suffer work-related diseases.

At Telenor Pakistan, supply chain sustainability is a key focus. The organisation seeks to create a competitive advantage by setting high requirements for its suppliers and following up with inspection and risk mitigation. Telenor Pakistan’s ambition of “making zero possible” intends to bring down the number of serious incidents, injuries and illnesses to zero through concentrated efforts and progressing towards a proactive safety culture.

Dost Mazari’s physical remand is extended by the court for two days.

In a case involving alleged land encroachment, a local court in Lahore granted the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) another two days’ physical remand of former deputy speaker of the Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari.

Mazari was brought before the judicial magistrate’s court after his two-day physical remand expired last Sunday.
The anti-corruption establishment arrested the former deputy speaker of the provincial assembly on Saturday in connection with an alleged land encroachment case.

During the proceedings, the ACE requested that Mazari be remanded in custody for a longer period of time, while Mazari’s lawyer objected.

“The ACE required the remand in order to secure the land’s documents. Official records contain all of the records pertaining to the land “Mazari’s attorney.

He asserted that Mazari was the focus of a political investigation. “The Punjabi administration is retaliating politically by employing institutions. The prosecution cannot simply request physical remand in order to have it granted.”

The judge, however, rejected the attorney’s motion and instead ordered Mazari to remain in custody for a further two days while also ordering ACE to turn in the results of the inquiry.

Political instrument

Not just Mazari’s attorney accused the Punjab administration of abusing institutions. The Lahore High Court (LHC) criticised ACE Punjab last week for its recent activities against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, accusing the organisation of turning into a “political tool.”

The comments were made by the LHC’s Rawalpindi bench during the hearing of the minister’s lawsuit challenging the validity of the arrest warrants issued by ACE Punjab.

The court informed the Director-General of ACE Punjab, Nadeem Sarwar, who was also present during the hearing, “Your institution has become a political tool.”

The court remarked, “One [DG] arrives and forms a case, and another (DG) comes and concludes that case.” Additionally, it criticised the officer for using a fraudulent statement to obtain Sanaullah’s arrest orders.

Security has been increased on all roads leading to Islamabad in preparation for the PTI march.

In the aftermath of the PTI long march, which is expected to reach the outskirts on Thursday, the administration of the federal capital has decided to fully secure all non-traditional passages linking Islamabad from neighbouring areas beginning tomorrow.
Trained snipers would be deployed across the Margalla Hills and adjacent hilly areas that form the federal capital’s border. It will make criminal trafficking through the routes impossible. The new and stringent measures have been implemented in response to Ali Amin Gandapur’s audio leak about large-scale weapons arrangements just outside Islamabad for fighting law enforcement agencies.

According to reliable sources, trained and highly skilled snipers are being deployed at these locations for the first time, as some PTI leaders plan to use war tactics. The Gandapur audio tape has sparked fear and harassment in Islamabad. “The administration is determined to keep the city safe and secure during these trying times.” “Every possible step would be taken to ensure the city’s peace and order,” sources added.

They claimed that the capital’s diplomatic community was terrified of the situation and had expressed their concerns to concerned officials. The people of Islamabad have also praised the Red Zone’s expansion to Abpara. The diplomatic community has also praised the initiative because it will keep potentially volatile areas away from their facilities. Meanwhile, DIG Operations Islamabad Sohail Zafar Chatta has directed police and FC officials to be on high alert and prepared to deal with any situation that arises. On Sunday, he met with police and FC officers who were on duty and assured them that the law enforcement agencies would take every precaution to protect citizens’ lives and property, as well as private and commercial property.

He claimed that every cop was doing their very best to keep the capital’s peace and order. He swore that the Islamabad Capital Police would do all required to defend the lives and property of the populace as well as private and commercial properties, and that they would never permit anyone to disturb the tranquilly of the city. All officials have been told to maintain vigilance in their particular zones, periodically brief the staff to deal with any situation, and assess the Jawans’ own performance of their tasks. All employees deployed on duty would be sent with riot gear following the high command’s orders. Different parts of the city were visited by law enforcement officers to check the guidelines.

“Don’t Engage”: Pakistan Prime Minister Seek Advice From Brother Nawaz Sharif On Imran Khan

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) looks to the elder Sharif for leadership in important political matters despite the fact that he has been living in London.
Former Pakistani leader Nawaz Sharif has instructed his younger brother and current prime minister Shehbaz Sharif to avoid speaking with former leader Imran Khan, who is currently heading a large march to Islamabad calling for immediate general elections.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) looks to the elder Sharif for leadership in important political matters despite the fact that he has been living in London.

Nawaz Sharif stated in a series of tweets that Khan regularly made the assertion that he would bring a million people to Islamabad, but that he had only been able to pull together 2,000 people and was frantically seeking a face-saving gesture from the government.

PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif tweeted, “I have advised Shahbaz Sharif that whether he [Imran] brings 2,000 or 20,000 people, he [the prime minister] should neither listen to any demand of this fitna [mischief] nor offer him any face-saving, for which he is desperate.

He urged Prime Minister Shehbaz to put all of his energy into helping the citizens of the struggling economy.

He added that Khan’s depraved lies had been revealed in front of the country, which was the cause of the people’s lack of interest in the lengthy march.

“He [Imran] told lie after lie with such brazenness and obstinacy that DG ISI [Inter-Services Intelligence] was compelled to break his silence and give the nation the truth, which he could not answer even after so many lies had been told,”

That is the reason, Nawaz insisted, adding that “Imran’s sole emphasis is on vulgar language as usual.” The tweets followed many allegations of secret negotiations between the government and Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding the scheduling of elections ahead of schedule.

The rumours gained credibility after Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday established a 13-member committee, which included officials from the parties in the ruling coalition, to discuss the march. Sharif said that anyone seeking to speak with the committee was welcome to do so.

Khan was barred from serving in the current National Assembly earlier this month by a five-member panel of the Pakistani Election Commission (ECP).

According to Putin, we are no longer taking part in the grain export agreement

image

According to President Vladimir Putin, Russia is only halting its involvement in a contract to sell desperately needed Ukrainian grain through Black Sea ports.Putin made his first remarks since Moscow’s announcement on Saturday that it was suspending its participation in the UN-mediated Black Sea deal following what it claimed to be a significant drone strike by the Ukrainian government on its fleet in Crimea.

“We are not declaring that we will stop taking part in this operation. No, we are stating that it will be suspended “Putin stated during a live press conference.Putin said the Ukrainian drones had travelled through the same corridors the grain ships used.

And as a result, he continued, “they constituted a threat to both our ships, which must guarantee the security of grain shipments, and to the civilian ships that are engaged in this.” No one from Kiev has taken credit for the incident.

Despite Russia’s warnings that this was unsafe, other contract members went ahead and sent grain on Monday.Putin stated that in accordance with the provisions of the agreement, Russia is in charge of providing security, adding that Ukraine “must guarantee that there will be no threats to civilian vessels or to Russian supply vessels.”

Taylor Swift is the first ever artist to own the entire Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Drake, who held the previous record with nine top tracks for a week last year, has been overtaken by Taylor Swift.

swift's new album tops billboards in all top 10 positions

With songs from her most recent album, Midnights, Taylor Swift became the only artist in history to have all ten of the top positions on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States.

On Monday, Billboard announced that Swift had broken Drake’s record of nine Top 10 singles for a single week, set in September 2020.

“10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES,” The 32-year-old pop sensation took to Twitter.

Both a 13-track normal edition and a deluxe version with seven additional songs were released on October 21. One of the largest record debuts in seven years. Swift now has as many No. 1 albums as Barbra Streisand, according to Billboard.

Lyrics like “It’s me/hi/I’m the problem/it’s me” by Anti-Hero have swiftly become a TikTok fad, propelling the song to the top of the Billboard chart. Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow on the Beach, Midnight Rain, Bejeweled, and Question…? round out the top ten.

By far the most impressive of Swift’s Midnights’ many achievements is its first-week sales total, which was over double that of the previous leader, Harry’s House, Harry Styles’ third solo album. As for the number of streaming in the first week, Midnights topped Styles’ numbers by a wide margin, 72.5 million to 53.9 million.

Midnights was the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day on a worldwide scale the day it was released.

After a 3-year absence, Kohli scores a century in the Asia Cup

Virat Kohli is outraged at the ‘infringement of privacy’ after a video was taken in his hotel room.

Indian cricket player Virat Kohli said on Monday that he was “paranoid about his privacy” after an unknown person recorded inside his hotel room in Perth.

Virat kohli's privacy invasion

India’s star batsman, 33-year-old Virat Kohli, lashed out on social media at the intruder who filmed him while rummaging through his luggage at the Crown Perth as he and his team prepared for the T20 World Cup in Australia earlier this month.

“I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favorite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that,” Kohli Instagrammed his 221 million followers.

“But this video here is appalling and it´s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy.”

According to the hotel’s statement, an inquiry had been opened, and a contractor had been “stood down”.

If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all??.” he added.

“I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment.”

Crown Resorts expressed regret for the infringement and promised swift action.

Election in Brazil: Lula wins, Bolsonaro has yet to accept defeat

Jair Bolsonaro, the losing candidate, has not conceded yet more than 17 hours after Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was named the winner of the presidential election in Brazil.

After narrowly falling short of his archrival on the left, the far-right president allegedly went to sleep.

We are concerned that he might not accept the outcome given his silence.

He has already raised erroneous concerns about the electoral process.

There is an anxious wait for Mr. Bolsonaro to appear in public due to his combative past remarks, like as that “only God” could remove him from power.

Lula defeated Mr. Bolsonaro with 50.9% of the legal votes after all the votes had been tallied.

In his acceptance address, Lula mentioned the political split in Brazil that had become worse during the highly contested and frequently combative election campaign.

“This nation needs harmony and tranquilly. This populace no longer desires to engage in combat, “He declared, promising to lead Brazil for all of its citizens, not just those who had supported him.

Many people around the world have sent their congratulations, including the leaders of Britain, China, France, India, and Russia. The victory came “after free, fair, and credible elections,” according to US Vice President Biden.

As a result of the outcome, intimate friends of the president claimed that he “went to sleep” at the presidential palace in the nation’s capital, Brasilia.

It is unclear if Mr. Bolsonaro met them or what was discussed when a presidential adviser and Mr. Bolsonaro’s vice presidential running mate were seen arriving at the palace in the morning.

Later, Mr. Bolsonaro was seen departing the palace and making his way to the structure housing his official office.

According to Brazilian media, everything has been prepared for a presidential press conference, although it is unclear whether one will take place in the near future.

Shanghai Disney: Visitors are unable to leave the park unless they have a negative Covid test.

Due to China’s rigorous zero-Covid policy, Shanghai Disney has become the most well-known location to close its doors, confining tourists inside.

People have been warned that until they can present a negative test result, they will not be permitted to leave the theme park.

It comes after Shanghai on Saturday disclosed 10 domestically transmitted cases.

Millions of people have previously been routinely detained under China’s divisive zero-Covid policy, sometimes in strange places.

People have fled stores, including a Shanghai location of Swedish furnishing giant Ikea, and offices in an effort to avoid becoming trapped inside due to the unexpected natural lockdowns.

To cheer themselves up, Shanghai Disney guests can take solace in the fact that rides are still running for those who are confined within The Happiest Place on Earth.

Nearby attractions including the commercial street and the amusement park were immediately shut down shortly after 11:30 local time (3:30 GMT).

Following the news, people were seen running to the park’s gates in videos broadcast on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, but they were already locked.

The Shanghai administration announced the park was closed to visitors in a post on the Chinese social media platform WeChat, adding that those who were already there may only leave after providing a negative test result.

The park has abruptly closed down before. Authorities required everyone to be tested as part of contact tracing in November, which resulted in 30,000 people being stuck inside.

Authorities across the enormous country of China have continued to apply sudden and severe measures in an effort to halt any propagation of the virus for nearly three years after China reported its first coronavirus case.

As of October 24, millions of individuals are subject to 200 various forms of lockdown in China, a nation of 1.45 billion people where more than 1,000 new cases of Covid are constantly reported each day. In other parts of the world, the number of outbreaks is considered to be quite minimal.

However, Chinese President Xi Jinping indicated earlier this month that the zero-Covid policy would not be relaxed.

US midterm elections: How has Biden’s economic record fared?

The handling of the US economy under President Joe Biden’s administration has been the subject of allegations between him and his Republican rivals.

Republicans have spoken about “Joe Biden’s recession” as a result of increasing inflation and declining stock markets throughout the most of this year.

In response, Mr. Biden asserted that the economy is “as strong as hell,” citing low unemployment and good job growth.

The US economy contracted by 1.6% in the first quarter of this year, and then by 0.6% in the second quarter (up to June).

The most recent quarterly data, however, demonstrate positive expansion. The US GDP, a measure of a nation’s economic activity, increased at an estimated annual pace of 2.6% from July to September.

The German economy expanded by 0.3% during this time. France saw a growth of 0.2%.

The Covid pandemic had a dramatic effect on economic growth during the Trump administration, with lockdowns leading to a sharp decline in 2020, which was followed by a similarly dramatic recovery after the restrictions were relaxed.

On a longer time scale, the economy grew more during Mr. Biden’s first year in office (starting in January 2021) than it did throughout the administrations of Presidents Trump and Obama.

Looking ahead, OECD projections for 2023 show the US trailing several other major economies, including China, Japan, and France, in terms of economic growth.

A ‘Planet Killer’ Asteroid discovered hiding in the sun’s glare poses no immediate threat.

Astronomers exploiting low light at the end of the day discovered three near-Earth asteroids, or NEAs, one of which was nearly a mile (1.5 kilometres) wide and lurking in the blinding light of our own sun.

While these newly discovered asteroids are large enough to be disastrous if they collide with a planet, there are currently no predicted close approaches between any of them and Earth in the near future.

The space rocks were discovered during twilight observations made over the past two years with the Dark Energy Camera at NOIRLab’s Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. The trio is led by 2022 AP7, a spacecraft roughly the size of the US Pentagon with an orbit that may one day put it in Earth’s path.

According to a statement released on Monday by Scott S. Sheppard from the Carnegie Institution for Science, “our twilight scan is scouring the space within the orbits of Earth and Venus for asteroids.” We have so far discovered two planet-killing-sized near-Earth asteroids that are around a kilometre across.

Sheppard is also the lead author of a paper that recounts the discovery of the asteroids 2021 LJ4 and 2021 PH27, which are each the size of the US Capitol and Golden Gate Bridge, as well as 2022 AP7, which was published in the Astronomical Journal in September. The latter two, in contrast to the largest of the three, are not thought to be potentially dangerous because their orbits keep them securely out of the way of our planet.

Over the years, astronomers have found and catalogued thousands of near-Earth asteroids, but there are still some areas where humanity is blind, particularly with regard to asteroids that are visible from Earth and travel very close to the sun. Astronomers were surprised when a meteor from an unidentified asteroid emerged from behind the sun and abruptly detonated over Russia in 2013.

Therefore, the discovery of these asteroids is a positive step for those interested in planetary protection. In addition to being the biggest possibly dangerous asteroid found in the previous eight years, 2021 PH27 is also the asteroid that is known to be closest to the sun.
